Yeah, even within the breathless hyperbole of PR announcements, that's a highly debatable assertion. So, what are the greatest horror anthologies of all time? Dead of Night should be at or near the top (the sexist, unfunny, and ultimately pointless golf story aside), but one could make the argument for Black Sabbath and Kwaidan as well. Plus there's the original Creepshow, of course.

This said, the last segment is wildly entertaining and I'll be buying this just because I like that so much. The Raft is ALRIGHT, but not anything special, and the fact the oil slick looks like a dirty raincoat doesn't help. Old Woodnhead or whatever it's called is just lame and goes on way too long, when it FINALLY hits the climax it's fine. |

I am confused that Arrow throws in a mini comic book then calls it a 'limited edition' - is that sufficient enough to bill as a separate 'edition'? Stuff like Re-animator or Blood Rage featuring an additional disc or second+ cut of the movie strikes me as more worthy of distinction.

If you folks are interested in horror anthologies, you might want to check out last year's Southbound. It ain't perfect, but if I remove my nostalgia specs, I'd say it's got more to offer than Creepshow 2.
Alas, no blu-ray release. ![]() I like this movie, but I can't see buying it again. The Image release took a lot of flak for allegedly poor PQ, but I've always found it serviceable. |

Yes, I watched that again recently and found it held up very well. Paramount though, so no BD. Grim Prairie Tales is another childhood rental I'd like to see upgraded - does anyone know who owns the rights? Film Aficianado says 'To Be Determined!' I have a DVD-R of the laserdisc, but I'd imagine there's room for improvement.

Pretty sure it was mixed in Ultra Stereo back in 1987.

Im assuming this Special Edition will be without the slipbox?
I find that cover rather cheesy. Good thing arrow gives us the optional covers. |

I'm on the fence because Creepshow 2 was subpar, it's just nowhere near as great as the first one. I do love that packaging but it seems I'm going to pass on this one.
