Just buy the disc sets. The quality is much better.

It's too bad these aren't being released on UHD Blu-ray since BCS is shot in 4k.

35 to 55 is to much for one season of a 10 ep tv show. I would consider buying it once its at like 10. What is the point in paying over 2 dollars an ep for a show that will inevitably get a 4k Blu ray release or a complete series release some day.

Also the quality difference isn't much better between 4k Netflix and a bd. If I had both I would still probably choose Netflix because of the convenience even if the picture quality is like 1% worse.

Anyway I do want it just not enough to pay release date prices for it.

You wait just a little bit and these sets get price slashed around holidays and certain times of the year.

I waited and got BCS's first season for about $20.

Besides better video quality, you gain lossless audio on disc too.

AMC is pandering to the LCD suggesting the audience has a low IQ.

All jokes aside (or a poor attempt at one), AMC are not giving the audience any credit. I am sure that Vince Gilligan is not choosing to use B&W for flashbacks when he never did so for Breaking Bad. Shame AMC. Shame!
This isn't really the case -- the decision to use B&W (or not) would actually still rest with Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould here, not the network (Sony, the studio, would also likely side with the creators in the event of a dispute, as happened back in 2011). It's just more that, for whatever creative reason, they felt that B&W photography would be better suited to those particular episodes' needs. All those Emmys on Gilligan's shelf have earned him quite a bit of creative freedom these days.

I'm all about waiting for a good price on new releases but if everybody does it for every release we will kill the market. Buy the things you love and can't wait for a sale price on release week to keep the market flowing. For me this show and the crew that makes it deserve my money and I will pay full price for the show.

Agreed. This is exactly the same attitude that killed any chance of us finally getting Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on Blu-Ray -- certain fans feeling wrongly entitled to dirt-cheap, Black Friday-level prices immediately upon release, which killed the sales-figures of TNG and lead to the studio ditching all plans for future BD releases. It's those immediate sales-figures that are the most important to the studios, like it or not, which is why it's so vital to support releases like these as close to release day as possible, even at a slightly-higher pricepoint.

Was wondering why it was taking so long to announce the release of this set. Love season 2 and can't wait to rewatch it all again. First day purchase here as well. November will be sweet! GOT season 6 comes out the same day!

EDIT: Didn't read the second page while posting, that set of features is sweet! Having a commentary in every episode is my kind of extra. Great set of features.

Well this is a no brainer. Day 1 pick up for sure. Vince Gilligan turns another show into gold.

We see people working in a restaurant. Then, after a couple of minutes, you notice a young Saul say goodnight to two girls as he closed up shop. At that point I went "Ahh, flashback!"... And I assume that could be the only reason for the B&W.

It seems that they did the same for another AMC show, The Walking Dead S6 Ep1, where a non-linear storyline was used: going back and forth form present tense, to events that occurred just after the end of the Season 5 finale. B&W was used, frustratingly, for all the sequences that occurred in the past tense.

It appears to me that AMC is forcing creators of both shows to use Black and White to represent "flashbacks" or "events not in occurring in the present story tense", which I think is absolute crap and an insult to my intelligence. Better Call Saul looks very entertaining from the extended previews and judging by the critics. Look forward to watching it. But not if I have to sit through flashbacks in B&W. That is just plain ludicrous to have to do so to illustrate the flashback point.
lol, Vince Gilligan utilized the same B&W technique for certain season 2 episodes of Breaking Bad. It's all there for a reason. AMC is a shitty network but I have a feeling Vince Gilligan has a little more leeway with them as compared to other people.

Glad this is out soon, I missed the entire second season so this will help me catch up.

Odd though, no special package treatment? I loved the Season One packaging and wish they'd have continued something similar..

Is $37.99 going to be the lowest this will go on release day ? I was hoping to buy it on day 1 but will have to hold off until it gets a little cheaper.

Yea I'm a little disappointed it's that high for opening week seeing as they always have a bit cheaper. Strange how this and GOT are above their usual opening week prices. I would've picked it up without a doubt if it was $30 but I get the feeling it's going to be on sale for black friday or during christmas at much lower prices.

Season one was $29.99 on release day last year and the collector's edition was $34.99. Hopefully the price drops at one of the stores tomorrow.

I refuse to watch this show on moral grounds.

...I have a real issue with people who don't flush the toilet in public bathrooms.

Recently Ray and his coworkers were gathered for an impromptu meeting. The following transcript may be considered shocking...

(not to mention spoilery if you haven't watched this season yet)

[Show spoiler]
Quote:
<Cliff> Excuse me! Can I have everyone's attention please?

Everyone can hear me? Good. Frankly this not a conversation I ever thought I would have in my professional career. But it's been brought to my attention that we have an ongoing situation in the washroom.

Someone is not flushing.

Once is an accident. Maybe even twice. Three times... now that's a pattern.

<Erin> And we're not talking about a number one...

<Cliff> Yes. Thank you, Erin.

Now, I'm not here to shame anyone. Nor to even want to know who did it. But...

<Ray> Uh, Cliff? It was me.

<Cliff> Ray I just said I didn't want to know.

<Ray> Hey. We need the water. I read somewhere that the Santa Fe Watershed is down -two- -full- -inches- this year. Every time you flush a toilet you waste a gallon of water. A gallon. What could be greener than this?

<Cliff> They're low-flow toilets, Ray. From now on - flush.

$34.99 at Best Buy looks to be the lowest release day price.

Just like last year, I'll wait for this to drop at 19.99. I think S1 dropped there around mid December.
