Some of my organization categories will occasionally clash. For instance I organize by "director", but I also organize by "complete franchise". Which has caused me trouble a couple times. For instance I have the Halloween Collection, which I keep in the Franchise section of my collection. However, I also have a John Carpenter section. So I have a film that needs to be in 2 places at once. Now usually I adios a dvd once I get the blu ray, but in this instance I have kept it, even though I will never use it again, just so I can keep it on the shelf with my other Carpenter titles.
It gets worse. I used to own the Legacy Series dvd of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. When the Blu Ray steelbook came out, I sold the dvd and put the steelbook blu in line with the rest of my Hitchcock. Now heres where my problem starts. Soon after that, SHOUT, announced they would be releasing Psycho 2,3 (and eventually 4). So here I am again with a movie that needs to be in 2 homes. Hitchcock and Franchise. Now instead of leaving it be like any normal person would, not only did I go out and rebuy the Legacy Series dvd that I sold, but I bought it knowing full well that it would just sit on my shelf, never to be viewed again , just so I didn't have Psycho 2,3,4 sitting on my shelf looking out of place. Anyhow, thats just one of my many quirks. What are yours? |
