Oh, I'm sure this will be on their "A" list for release as it meets the double criteria of being obscure AND panned by the few critics that saw it.

If they were going to release a live action film with a monkey in it, they should've released Toby Tyler.

The second you see this in stores, that means disney will be making a reboot of it.

Yes, agreed. Toby Tyler's a pretty enjoyable movie and a much better choice than this one in my opinion. But if they release on blu (they should), they need to release a true widescreen or whatever correct OAR is because the version they released to Digital HD is cropped/zoomed and feels odd compared to the DVD.

Personally, no monkeys, but I was voting for Follow Me, Boys which has an anniversary this year and I consider a really good movie, but I guess 3 Fred Macmurray movies in a row was just too much given they just released the Flubber ones. lol

I guess I wouldn't mind them releasing these really odd choices like Monkeys so much if they'd pick up the pace and release more often than once every few months.

Disney WAS on fire for a while with these releases, but clearly that is no longer the case.
absolutely pathetic that after more than a decade the original Parent Trap is STILL not out on bd.
OR all the other titles people keep asking for.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Black Hole, The Moon Spinners, Darby O'Gill, That Darn Cat, etc. etc.
Disney is still the most frustrating studio of them all imo.

This title was released a year ago today, and we haven't gotten any more Walt-era films released on Blu-ray since this one. Do you guys think Disney Movie Club might be finished with Walt-era productions? I sure hope not!

I have a feeling the new Disney streaming service may have doomed future physical releases of live action classics. Disney is nothing if not arrogant, and if they believe they can entice (coerce) consumers into opting into their streaming service by offering exclusive access to some classic titles like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, etc, then they will not hesitate to do it.

While I hope that's not the case, the cynic in me says it very likely could be. I've been very disappointed with Disney's Archive offerings this year. I was hoping that Disney would honor the fiftieth anniversary of my favorite Walt-era film The Happiest Millionaire with a nice DMC blu, but even if another wave is announced, I'm sure it would another selection of crappy modern films. Can somebody please revive Walt's cryogenically preserved head please?

That is what I think too, because of their new streaming service I sadly expect there will be even less new Disney physical media releases as their has been in the last few years. The only good thing that I personally can see this streaming service doing is hopefully it will have every episode for several of Disney's 20th century TV shows. Such as Disneyland/The Wonderful World of Color, The Mickey Mouse Club, and Darkwing Duck. Since Disney hasn't released any DVDs for those shows since 2008, I don't expect to see any more releases for them on physical media. (Minus a few anthology series episodes/movie cuts that was released on DVD as DMC Exclusives like The Magnificent Rebel)

I totally agree about The Happiest Millionaire that one REALLY needs a Blu-ray release, especially since the DVD isn't in anamorphic widescreen. (They also missed out on The Great Locomotive Chase and Westward Ho the Wagons! Blu-ray releases for both of their 60th anniversaries last year. Such a shame. )

I want it to be noted that I'm the third to ***** about The Happiest Millionaire in this thread.

I see this release caused such a stir that it wasn't reviewed until April 29, 2021, almost 5 years late.
