Ugh. I just dropped $7.99 for the digital HDX of this a few days ago because I was thinking it would never get a blu release. That said, I want the blu as well and will definitely pick it up. Hopefully it has some cool extras.

I saw it in the theater. It got a pretty wide release, as far as I know. At the time, I remember a lot of publications and TV shows discussing it for how cheesy/bad it was. But, I think it's fantastic. HA HA!!!

Cundieff claims the film disappeared from home video and never got re-released because nobody could find a print. This was back in 2015.
I'm definitely curious to see what features will be on this disc. There will probably be a director's commentary |

The DVD has been OOP for years! Fortunately I found a used copy at a used electronic / media store for $8.00 a couple of years ago, (in very good condition) and I grabbed it. Most definitely I will be buying the blu-ray. Another urban thriller/ horror movie I would like to have on blu-ray is: Bones with Snoop Dogg.

The laserdisc had a commentary with the director, and I believe the DVD release contained a trailer as well, so at the very least, hopefully those get ported over. |

I'm excited. I still have a dvd of this I bought from amazon in the early 2000s. People are charging outrageous prices for that thing on ebay now. I hope this has lots of extra features and commentary. My cousin and I saw this n 95 on a friday afternoon at the theater. I love this movie. the 4 tales (police brutality, child abuse, racist politicians, and gang violence) are still very much relevant in 2016. If you haven't seen this film, it pays homage to other great films. Especially the 1st tale when they use the same actor from a film they're paying homage to lol

YES. It was huge at the time. I first heard about this watching an episode of Rap City and Joe Torry was being interviewed in 1994 and he talked about a new film he had coming out called Tales from the Hood and it was a black horror film which was rare in the mid 90s because everyone was doing the gangster films. When the movie got legs under it, it was spotlighted in rap magazines and such. The first time I saw the trailer for it I'll never forget it. It was something I had to see. I bought the soundtrack, had a poster on my wall of it I was excited. 21 years later, it's still my favorite film. it's by far not the best film, but this movie inspired me to do what I do.
