Does anyone know if the Blu-ray version will be released in Australia?
The DVD version was just released in Australia, but I would much prefer to get the Blu-ray version.

Thanks

The Steelbook looks damn sexy. And at this point with my collection all over the map, cover-wise, having a Steelbook won't look that weird.

Well actually the Fiveish Doctors, a wondefully divine concoction, can be found in the US Matt Smith years collection boxset. If memory seves me all the discs are A/B at least apart from the 3D Day of the Doctor disc.

As far as I can tell the listings for the standard blu-ray edition of this title have disappeared from all online retailers and price comparison sites so I guess it's safe to presume it isn't happening after all. Way to go BBC Worldwide.

Well, yes, but I'm assuming some people won't want to pay the premium for the steel packaging and have superfluous DVDs. This steel is nearly double what the DVDs cost, after all. Or, perhaps, they'll want a standard edition to match the packaging of Spearhead From Space and The TV Movie. I'm sure Fnord will have his reasons.

I'm in for the steelbook, personally, but I can see reasons why some won't be. I thought that it would sell out, like the Series 9 steel, but this seems to be much more widely available and is very much the one BBCWW want to sell in the UK. Better than the US - they're not getting this on bluray at all, just DVD. They didn't get the McGann bluray either.

Exactly.

Wasn't paying £24 for a steelbook when there was an armary due out the same day for £15 especially as I didn't want or need the DVD or colour copies.

Picked the DVD up for £13 in Sainsbury's this afternoon and I'm "happy" with that.

After BBC Worldwide cancelled the amaray edition, presumably due to sluggish steelbook sales, I simply bought the DVD edition instead.

Thanks to decent animation and excellent art direction you get past the 16:9 ratio very quickly. Though a couple of sets are, in one case vastly, expanded to take advantage of the wider frame and lack of studio bound physical constraints (IMO for the better) the vast majority of shots are are designed and framed to resemble the original telesnaps.

In fact I'd say it's probably the best animated Old Who recon since the Invasion. Now can someone give them the money to do this with Macra Terror, Massacre of Bartholomew's Eve and Dalek's Master Plan, unless of course they're back at the BBC then don't bother.

And Fury from the Deep while they are at it please, that looks a terrific story that absolutely nothing but a few telesnaps and a few seconds of footage is know to exist.

Good call. The Fury From the Deep audio CD is great. Have the audiobook CD set of the novelization as well but haven't yet got around to listening to it.

I remember watching Fury from the Deep as a kid although by the mid 70's I was convinced I was remembering Inferno. It wasn't until I saw the cast list I realised. And that recovered footage although brief is a great indicator as to why of all the stories of that era its the one that I remember most
