I like you all, but please - shoot me if I am here for 7 years
Well it's either longevity or post count. Either way it seems like you're screwed.

MS isn't going to stop this nonsense. It's in their company culture. When HD DVD goes the way of the dodo, expect all of the current shills to start talking points about how physical media is archaic, etc.

These people really need to start thinking for themselves instead of worshipping @ the Church of Amir.

Well, 7 years, 8 thousand posts - he's gotta be right about something doesn't he?

The outspoken HD-DUD's have been slowing changing their tune to "downloading is not that bad...", "it's the future...", "good enough...", etc... so when the eventual demise of HD-DUD happens, they are not on the sinking ship...

Can you imagine Disney without hard copies? Lol. They would not exist.

I think the only thing Amir is hanging onto to feel significant is his posts on AVS. To him it makes himself feel significant. I wonder if someday he will realize only a handful of pro HD-DVD supporters really suck up to what he is saying and most people think he is just full of it. But then again he is entitled to live in his own delusional world since that is the only thing he has left.

In glancing through his ramblings, it appears to me he's trying to make a case for mediocrity. MS is trying to get the acceptable resolution down for the purpose of downloading and they need to get people to accept a less than good picture as normal. It's called lowering expectations.

You are right. They want dowmloads to be their format, not media.

In Amir's world, it's called "good enough". Seriously. And the crazy part is that the HD DVD footles over on AVS, a site formerly populated by folks who joined to maximize their A/V experience, buy into it every day.
