Arrow will probably get this in the states eventually -- not sure why everyone's so gung-ho to support a German release when it's bound to happen here soon enough -- so this is very much an easy pass for me.

The Cinespectral release is truly stacked (no pun intended!) with extras - there are 2 full BDs worth - which an eventual Arrow release is unlikely to duplicate, plus it should look as good (or better than) anything Arrow would release, being a 4k restoration from the IP, unless Arrow somehow get a hold of the OCN and go the pricier 4k route as well.

The best-case scenario for an eventual Arrow edition would be the equal of the Cinespectral release, which would again have to be a 2 BD set. I don't mind shelling out now for something that, at best, might be equaled down the road. Even if Arrow does whip up an identical set using the same 4k transfer, I should be able to sell the by-then-OOP Cinespectral release for at least whatever I'm paying for it now.

Well, I can't speak for the New World Pictures titles which are handled by 20th Century Fox (like THE PUNISHER with Dolph Lundgren) but ELVIRA is bound to the same situation like the HELLRAISER parts I-III. There are 'only' interpositives available to be scanned.

We showed a test clip of the final encode to some fans and their feedback was pretty good.

I would love to see the sequel, Elvira's Haunted Hills, too. I've only watched it once years ago, but it wasn't terrible. I think Elvira owns the rights in full to that movie. It would be cool to see a box set of the two movies.

We are glad that she supported our Blu-ray of the first movie. But right now I can't see a way to make the second movie happen. Like mentioned before, it might be up to an US distributor.

That is too bad. I think she tried to buy the rights for Mistress of the Dark at one time, but the company wanted too much money I think. It will be nice to finally see this classic movie in good quality.

I gave up after Cinespectral Films announced their price on cinefacts.de - €37.99 plus shipping is a bit steep for my taste. Although the release will be stuffed with extras (they might release another edition with less bonus at some point), my old R1 DVD will have to do until another release comes around.

BECAUSE COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EU DO NOT GET CHARGED THE 19 PERCENT GERMAN SALES-TAX!


The shop offers also USD as a currency. the exchange-rate gets refreshed on a daily basis. And based on that, and the bilingual interface for the customers... that's what made the shop thing complicated at some point.

And that's AGAIN the thing I remarked about forums and their users. Somebody reads something, comprehends it in a questionable way and shares it. A wrong message/news gets spread. And we have to clean up after that!

So once the user is logged in the shop and has entered a shipping address outside the EU, the prices will get refreshed and so will the shipping costs.

Easy now boy, calm down. No need to shout... So for me the price would be €37.80 including shipping. It's great you put so much work in it, but sadly that price tag is still uncomfortably high for me. I know, my loss, but like I said - I'll wait for another edition. Until then, the DVD is good enough for me. Good luck with the Mediabook release and the shop.
