Warner Archive is just crushing it lately! This and "Bad Day at Black Rock" are day-ones for me!

Haven't seen it. Never heard of it. Will buy day one because I see Audrey Hepburn on the cover.

Warner Archive is on fire with Wait Until Dark and Bad Day at Black Rock in January!

I'm glad that I get to upgrade my old DVD of Wait Until Dark, and I'm looking forward to making it a double feature with Don't Breathe.

I've heard a lot about this one, but have yet to see it, so I'll definitely be blind buying when it gets around $10.

I would like to take all credit. Just like with Barton Fink, they announce the bluray a few weeks after I buy the digital copy on Vudu

WAC titles don't really ever hit $10.

Anywho, day one. Incredible movie.

Warner Archive is kicking ass, I need to kick myself and actually pick up a number of their BDs.
I agree completely, including the reaction.

Damn, January gives us two later era Hepburn films in back to back weeks... this and Two For The Road from Twilight Time.

And I agree that Love in the Afrernoon should be next. Or The Nun's Story.

Classic film with a great performance from Audrey Hepburn plus a fantastic turn from Alan Arkin early in his career. The sad thing is that Arkin absolutely deserved a Best Actor nomination. Unfortunately he was overlooked in one of the most competitive years in that category. When you have Rod Steiger for In the Heat of the Night (he won), Paul Newman for Cool Hand Luke, Dustin Hoffman for The Graduate, Warren Beatty for Bonnie and Clyde, and Spencer Tracy for Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, it's hard to get in there.

In an interview in later years, Arkin was asked about that omission. He replied, "You don't get nominated for being mean to Audrey Hepburn."

There was a lotta competition that year!

Awesome news! I was wondering if they'd do something for the movie's 50th anniversary next year, but this is just fine! The HD version on Warner Instant looks amazing, so I'm sure we'll be very pleased with the BD!

Yeah, 1967 was an amazing year.

Arkin should have been nominated for Glengarry Glen Ross (but was overlooked for bigger names in that film), Thirteen Conversations about One Thing (a brilliant performance in a brilliant film but nobody saw it) and even for The Rocketeer (but you don't get Oscars for that type of movie). He finally got his award when he didn't deserve it for playing a stupidly written character (with emphasis on character) in a vastly overrated film.

My opinion.

Anyway, very happy that Wait Until Dark is finally being released.

Yay, I asked Akimaja in a private message about who I could contact from a studio to get this and Days of Wine and Roses released years ago. Finally getting one of them makes me very happy.

I made a list the other day of my most wanted films on Blu-ray and now i can check off Wait Until Dark. I immediately pre ordered it yesterday.

Anyone know who has the rights to The Changeling? That's another film at the top of my list for a Blu-ray release.

Warner Brothers via HBO. HBO decides what titles of their get bluray releases.

Alan Arkin has always been one of my favourites. Even in stuff like the Mike Myers comedy So I Married An Axe Murderer, he steals the show playing the apologetic police captain. And of course he should have also been nominated for Catch-22.

1967 was a great year for films and that Best Actor race was amazingly tight. When Poitier can't even get nominated for any of the three classic films he made that year, you know it's a tight race.

Still, Arkin COULD have been nominated for Best Supporting, the competition was a little weaker there.

It's a great little thriller. It was based on a play by Frederick Knott, who also wrote Dial M For Murder, another play (turned into a film) about a woman facing peril inside her own apartment.
