Other than Sony's Z9D series none of the 2017 TVs support 3D.

2017 sounds like a bummer year.

Im interested to see if Sony's chip makes any noticeable real world difference. If not lol.

If it support VP9-HLG YouTube HDR, it should also support VP9-PQ YouTube HDR (aka VP9-HDR10) because the related HDR10 functions are already there.

Hence, it should support all existing operational HDR formats, i.e. HEVC HDR10, HEVC Dolby Vision, HEVC HLG HDR, VP9-HLG YouTube HDR and VP9-PQ YouTube HDR.

Could you confirm this? Thank you!
Just confirmed that Sony's Z9D and A1E will support the following HDR formats:
- HDR10 HEVC
- HLG HEVC
- Dolby Vision (via streaming and 4k Blu-ray) HEVC
- HDR10 VP9
- HLG VP9
- YouTube HDR

Robert, this ^ info, plus the Z9D is the last (2016)/2017 model to have 3D, pushed me over the edge. Just ordered the 65" at BBY today with the $500 off sale (same as Amazon). Hoping to use the Rewards points towards an Oppo 203 at a Magnolia location (the local is not one).

No 3D on the Sony oled took it out of contention. (Sorry Geoff D, I think you may be pine'ing (no idea how to spell that) for the A1E.)

It's possible that it might be delivered Saturday. Or next Wednesday. Either way will be here before Super Bowl.

outside of spec, how is the tv going to be on a table or hanged? the way i saw it at CES the easel stand looks like it'll be an issue with glare and how big that easel stand thing hanging it on the wall would be a pain.

Regarding reflections, if the light comes from directly overhead reflections may be an issue. However, it's best to have lights near the front of any TV off regardless of which TV you own. I also discussed this at my private Sony CES meeting and was told the A1E has an aggressive anti glare and ambient light filter.

For wall mounting the pedestal stand folds up and becomes the wall mount.

@gkolb, glad I was helpful in making your decision to buy Sony's Z9D. You will love the TV. They come out of the box well set-up and calibrate beautifully.

Sony just allocated our company from the 1st USA shipment of 77" A1Es. We'll be wall mounting one next to LG's 77" G7. Fun times ahead!

Do you keep the stand cover on or off? My tv is against a wall, so you don’t see it anyways. The cables look like they have to be almost flush at the bottom to use the cover. I kind of like having quick access. Mostly concerned about dust getting in through the exposed speaker and causing problems if I leave it off.
