what if Snoke is Plagieus. Kylo wants to finish what Vader started (bringing people back to life), and is promised by snoke that if he kills his father, the force could bring him back to life......Solo in episode 9 then??
Sorry thats my ClickBait theory |

I don't think Kylo wants to bring people back to life. Anakin's downfall was attachment to those he loved which meant he couldn't bear to lose them through death. I don't believe the writers are so lazy as to burden Kylo with the same weakness as his grandfather. When says he will finish what Vader started, I always felt that he meant bring balance to the Force. Prophecies can be misread; Snoke could easily have twisted the prophecy of the chosen one as being about someone who will bring balance to the Force by wiping out the Jedi.

It wouldn’t be the first time in Star Wars a Sith or Jedi turned their backs on their club membership! |

The Sith were destroyed in Return of the Jedi, as foretold in the Chosen One prophecy. Then again, Disney doesn't seem to be one that respects what was established in the previous movies or the guy who created this fictional universe, so who knows what they might do or deem Snoke (erm.. Palpatine wannabe) to be.

Indeed. It's sadly very possible, and their disregard for what came before proves it. |

In a way, I think there’d be a beautiful symmetry to Palpatine’s overconfidence as Galactic Emperor if it turned out he had failed due to overconfidence at the inception of his rise to power, just as at its demise. I think whoever Snoke is, the idea there was this powerful dark sider watching Palpatine’s Empire rise and fall then stepping in to take over is a fascinating one, and I certainly hope there is more to the story revealed in Episode IX. I would personally feel a little disatisfied with Snoke as a character in the sequel trilogy if we don’t learn anything more significant about what his whole deal was by the end of it. They have set up so much, too much I think, to not have some kind of pay-off, even if it is only a scene or two. |

Plagueis was killed. As a Sith, he wouldn't allow someone to take his place while he was alive. That's the way of the Sith. Kill the Master and take an apprentice. The Sith can't retain their identity after death (unlike a Jedi), so he can't show up that way either. And there's no reason to assume he would suddenly abandon the ways of the Sith. Under what premiss? Sith are attached to power. Plagueis' quest for cheating death is about that. |

One need only appreciate the most basic teachings of Buddhism to understand what George Lucas was writing about with regards to attachment of self and the (surprisingly) contentious issue of midichlorians to appreciate the difference twixt Sith and Jedi. Ergo, the Sith are so attached to their own needs and (what we call) "the self-deceiving I" that they have no regard for the needs of others whereas the Jedi are (supposedly) in tune with every living creature, right down to the microscopic bacteria that float around in the blood streams of all living beings.
If you're in tune with all living beings, then you are in tune with the Force. I never did understand why so many fans had a problem with this. |
