I'll echo the comments GreatGreg made, you'd be hard pressed to find someone more knowledgeable about movie posters than Kinsella5. I haven't had the chance to meet him personally but I've purchased from him and exchanged a ton of pm's and emails in the past, if you are looking for originals that is a great place to start.

I've also bought a bunch of posters from movieposter.com. They have a brick and mortar store in Toronto which I'm close to so getting to go see the posters before you buy them is always handy... sometimes they just aren't competitive on pricing though so it can be cheaper to buy from Kinsella5 and have it shipped from the states!

If cost is the driving factor for you original posters may not be your thing, depending on the posters you are looking for you will pay a pretty penny for originals as they aren't cheap, couple that with the fact they are often larger making them more expensive to frame. If you are looking for some poster to tack to your wall go reprint, if you're looking for posters to professionally frame one day or put in a backlit lightbox then go original.

Original movie posters that were made at the studio are very expensive, that cost an arm and a leg. A few years ago, I use to go local video stores and they use to give me the movie posters that were displayed in the store after they take them down. They were not the originals (of coarse) but didn't care. I just wanted to hang them on the wall in my den. Currently the only video store that's still in business is: Family Video, and they usually sell their used posters for about $5.00 or less now.
