This flick is worth it for William Holden's character alone, and the girl wearing the "WEED" shirt. I'll definitely pick this up.

Hope Warner Archive doesn't have a CGI TimeWarner Warner Shield at the beginning. Hope it at least opens with that animated Red on a Black background Red "Lorimar" Presents Logo that originally opened the film after the 1976 Paramount Logo which I doubt will be left there, but even including that would be nice.

Hope Warner Archive takes on the other Lorimar Films like '(Escape To) Victory' from 1981 and 'Who Is Killing The Great Chefs Of Europe" from 1978 with Jacqueline Bisset and George Segal.

Speaking of Blake would love Warner Archive to release "Days Of Wine And Roses" on Blu Ray and for the William Holden fans release "Executive Suite" on Warner Archive Blu Ray

I keep bringing DOWAR up just to spark some interest in it. Warner reissued it on DVD, so you'd guess it's sold enough copies to warrant a BD release.

I've been told by someone who's in a position to know that DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES represents a major restoration challenge. What was good enough for DVD won't stand up to scrutiny on Blu-ray. But WAC knows the interest is there, and it's a title they would like to release.

I just watched this last night (DVR'd it from TCM). Don't believe I laughed once. But I will say, the cast is chock full of pros. Nice seeing William Holden in his final screen performance.

No extras on this, apparently. Would've been nice to have a commentary and a vintage production short at least. Outtakes could be a hoot. The sneak preview version had a different take of "the reveal" where she says something like "oh, what the..." just before pulling off the top of that odd little shelf that was built into the dress. At the time, BE was quoted as saying he went back and redid it with a bit more style. That hasn't been discussed much since.

Yeah, but Warner Archive doesn't do new extras, any extras are ported over from the DVD, but seeing as they put all their efforts into producing a really great looking picture, no complaints from me.

Lets just hope that they sort out the 100% distortion on the end sequence audio that has been inherant on all the formats that I have owned. (VHS, DVD, Laserdisc)

Does this reinstate the Paramount and/or Lorimar logos that opened theatrically, or did Warner perform their usual shield updates?

No WB shield (or Paramount). It opens with the Lorimar logo.

I see the review is up, no surprise that WAC has another winner.

Interesting tidbit - The review makes reference to an appearance by Edwards' favorite bit player, Herb Tanney, who was in many of his movies. Tanney was in fact Edwards' personal physician and Blake took great joy in putting his Dr. through the wringer. For example, in Victor/Victoria Tanney played the French P.I. who got hit with the lightning strike (via his umbrella).

More than many. He was in almost everything from Darling Lili onwards, sometimes not credited. It was a challenge to spot him in the preinternet days.

Not sure. His screen credits always started with an "S" first name followed by his real last name (Tanney).

He appeared ina ll movies from Darling Lili onwards except Carey Treatment, Tamarind Seed, Trail of the PP, Micki & Maude.

In the case of Trail/Curse of the PP, it was one shoot for both films and his cameo is in Curse.
