Treasure 2 means 2 more movies to buy. It was excellent. The high def screen goofy got would look good in anybody's house. Even a lame duck dud owner.

The filmmakers said they through that in there just for the hell of it. They honestly have no idea what page 47 is and if it would even be the source for a sequel. They could just as easily go somewhere else with it. Cage is hoping that the franchise moves more into international history vs just the US. Personally I hope they keep the US history part the foundation and only go overseas if it serves our history, like with the desks and the statue of liberty in the second.

It was odd seeing 2-D animation for a change, but the short was pretty funny. It'd be nice to see stuff like that more often. The part that really made me chuckle was the packing peanuts.

In my mind, it made it seem like buying a home theater system was really complicated. This may even drive people away from Blu Ray!
The point was subliminal promotion of Blu-ray.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

And yes, this deliberate subliminal mention of Blu-ray shows you how dedicated Disney is to the format.

I haven't seen it, but I'm guessing the point was entertainment. And John Lasseter wants to use these shorts to train people before they work on the full movies, from what I've read.

Personally, I really liked this short. I love goofy, and love to see disney doing some 2D animation again. I really miss the days when seeing these kinds of things were more normal.

I heard the Blu-ray nod and thought it was awesome too.

As for the movie - I liked it enough to buy it on Blu, and do imagine they'll be making a third.

Well that would make it International Treasure wouldn't it?

The whole point is for American History (or as Miss SC USA would say...US Americans History) to be the focus here.

Whatever they do next, they can't do Hoover Dam. We already know it was built to house the AllSpark.

That's why I hope they don't go there with it. It is fun having our own legends to explore, fact or fiction. Let little Miss SC do her own thing explaining the map needs of the kids in the africa and the iraq.

Americans refer to things like Mount Rushmore, historical documents like the Constitution and Declaration of Independence as National Treasures.

Things don't have to be labeled "American" to be American.

I think the Eiffel Tower is referred to as a National Treasure as well, and it's not American.

+1. I was waiting for a bigger ending to the "short." I whole heartedly expected a big Blu-ray logo at the end or something that would have pushed the format instead of a generic "hi-def at home" commercial.

We only heard the Blu-ray comment because we're huge fans and post on Blu-ray.com. I'll bet 9 out of 10 people in the theater (1) didn't catch that they said "Blu-ray player" and (2) don't even know what a "Blu-ray player" is.

They really need to advertise Blu-Ray in every movie Sony/Disney/etc releases...5 seconds intro is good enough.

I haven't seen it, but I'm waiting or it on Blu-Ray.
