I'm actually going to the theaters for this. Hopefully the blu release will inspire other (older) Kaiju films to be announced stateside.

I'm about to venture out into the frigid cold and take mass transit into the the city to catch this. I enjoyed PJ's 2005 remake tremendously and even though I'm aware he had nothing to do with Skull Island and my expectations are tempered somewhat, I still expect to be thoroughly entertained by this. If I walk out of the theater disappointed, it will sadly put another nail in the movie-going coffin. I opted for the regular 2D version.

Been been asking this in other Skull Island threads and I'm guessing no one knows the answer.

I see Best Buy has the 4k preorder up and took down their 3D preorder

I also see that other countries have both versions up for preorder. Zavvi UK has all versions up for preorder.

Whats the deal with Amazon US?

I'm ready to get both versions on preorder through Amazon, but I'm guessing I should go Zavvi UK at this point.

Anyone know what the hold up is?

I love this movie I am not sure if I will pick up day 1 because I despise Warner Brothers and their $24.99 day release prices for new blu rays but I probably will cave and get it I hope their is retail exclusives for this movie so I can justify spending more $$$ on this when the movie will be on sale for $14.99 3 weeks later

At this point I give up on 3D home releases, just went on Best Buy and saw that they took down their 3D pre-order. Very upset, maybe Target will have an exclusive pre-order or maybe there was a glitch in Best Buy's system and they will put it back up later but I think its now officially dead.

Nothing has really been said regarding Amazon US, but it seems that perhaps Amazon is having a similar lover's spat with Warner as it is currently with Disney. Both Kong and Fist Fight are not available to preorder

It's Ice Cubes's newest movie but it was never released in 3D.

Also, not gonna hold my breath that it'll actually keep the 3D. But we'll see.

I hope so. That Godzilla metalpak has some of the best gloss/embossing of any metal packaging I've seen. Plus as a bonus it roars!
