This reminds me when back in the day soundtrack labels like Intrada and Varese released limited editions of much sought-after titles like Predator or anything by the likes of Jerry Goldsmith and the title could be gone in half an hour. We knew exactly the time of the hour it was up for ordering - so you had to be ready, which could be nerve-racking I remember. Any tips of how to handle these much sought-after Korean titles? Are they announced with a date and then you don't know exactly when they are up for grabs, so you have to visit kimchidvd or nova 50 times a day to check or do they say when?
And does it ever happen that a company like FNC, when seing how fast a title was gone, decides to press say another 1000? I find it strange if they never do, especially with the extremely popular ones like Age of the Shadows, if they're interested in making money. |

I never learn. This has happened to me quite a few times over the years, I procrastinate and then miss out.

It seems this came out a week ago in the UK for £11.99 - anyone seen that edition? Last edited by Rhythm-X; 07-17-2017 at 01:08 PM. |

Weren't you also bothered by the subtitles constantly switching between top and bottom? That alone makes me consider paying more.

Not too much, and I feel like it was that way in theaters too but I'm not completely sure about that. However the opening credits, typeface aside, are in the same places on the screen as the theatrical, so I don't see why they'd re-position those particular subtitles.

Just finished watching the UK release of this. First of all, good solid film (but I guess we should expect that from the talent involved in front and behind the camera).
The presentation seemed fine too; the film was 2:20:33 long (despite the back of the case stating it was 135 mins), Korean credits, subtitles were also fine - no obvious grammatical errors, subs always where they should be and all on screen text was subbed). Only extra was the theatrical trailer, but seeing as the Korean release won't have subs for the extras it's no big deal to me. Don't know if it's region locked to B or not. All in all, seems like a solid alternative to the Korean version, and I'm more than happy to pay only £11.99 rather than whatever the K version went for. |
