The steelbook looks great in hand. I want to pick it up, but im torn as to whether the price will drop on amazon later on.

First off this is not a Steelbook...the spine is an iron pak...have not seen a iron pak for quite awhile. The embossing is crazy...like the Godzilla futurepak embossing. Great artwork..3 discs with a booklet. Just a fantastic ironpak!

Glad to hear it! Looks like I will have to wait a week for mine, as my Amazon preorder is delayed. I contend that Godzilla futurepak is one of the best overall metal packaging ever released. Gloss is 2nd to none. The bossing is so extensive it's like watching 3D. And the damn thing roars!! Just needed it to light up and I don't know if it could ever be topped.

The spine on the Ironboxes are different.

Just checked my futurepak & metal boxes...this has a completely different spine..then checked my Beauty & The Beast ironpak & the spine is the same but it also resembles a viva in some respects...maybe something new a iron viva pak!

It looks like the same type of case as the Best Buy exclusive Commando, Mad Max, MASH, and Spaceballs. Those were basically a Viva Metal Box with a different spine. The spine has less plastic showing than a Viva Metal Box, but everything else about it is the same. It's like the New Age Viva Metal Box.

B&N is having a 40% off Blu-ray sale from now through Fathers' Day. Although this title is not carried in most stores, you can have it special ordered.

Sale price is $24, but with membership and/or coupons, it can be much cheaper. Check out the bargains sub-forum for coupon links.

I wasn't gonna buy this since I have the UK steelbook, but when I saw it in Best Buy (and undamaged no less!) I bought it--the heavy embossing looks nice and is reminiscent of the Godzilla futurepak, which I own and like. The Akira case has an ironpak spine, which looks a little cheap, but where the case snaps closed it resembles a viva metal box (like the Avengers 3D/2D case that you could get if you preordered Avengers from Best Buy). So I'm not sure if this is technically an ironpak or a viva metal box.
