It's like the "Geek Squad" at Best Buy. They think they know about computers, but most of the time they are full of shi7. Many times they tried selling me something I didn't need, and they'd say stuff like "but you need this adapter to make your computer work with that printer" and I'm like, no I don't you're an idiot.

While net sales were down a bit last year their gross profit has steadily climbed every year over the last 5 years.
http://news.gamestop.com/phoenix.zht...ol-fundIncomeA Unlike a company like Sears who are seeing steep declines in both net sales and gross profits every year and are actually in trouble. This is simply getting rid of underperforming locations that don't even make up 2% of their locations and something that happens with retailers every year. I mean Wal-Mart closed over 400 stores last year and I don't think anybody would think a company making over $100 billion in profits every year are in trouble ![]() Quote:

Let me know when they're dead and where they're buried that I may piss upon their grave. Sums up how I've always felt about that chain.

If they are looking to sell the company I can offer them $2 cash or a $2.20 trade value.

I don’t shop there but they are a scam. They say if the game is out of the wrapper then it’s considered used but they will sell a game that’s open as a new game. And they sell used games just as much as much as a new game is.

What exactly is the scam? If a customer wants to buy a sealed game and Gamestop only has an opened copy they can easily say no and walk away.

Yeah if it were actually that simple to say no to these cashiers. They borderline harass you to buy a phone service, Pro membership, used over new, preorder a game, hear what new Funkos are coming out, etc. They've got an answer for every single "No thank you" that you can dish out to them.

But even if your experience is as bad you say not a single thing you said is a scam. And why is a bad experience such a problem anyway? If you don't like shopping there then don't shop there. How will Gamestop going out of business improve your life? Last edited by PenguinInfinity; 04-04-2019 at 02:59 AM. |

My closest couple of GameStop’s open every copy of games even the limited editions and put stickers on them. I can see it being done on less popular games where they only get in a copy and must shelf it, but 2-3 hundred copies of Kingdom Hearts is ridiculous. For those giving a gift, it just looks ugly to have a new game opened with price sticker and abrasion from shelving or being packed in their cabinets. I hated having to do that when I worked there 16-17 years ago. Jewel case games were horrid looking for being ‘new’ |

I wasn't the one who said GameStop was a scam, go back and re-read. It isn't one single bad experience, it's every time I have ever been into a GS location, even in different states. I stopped going to GS in 2015 and gave them another chance last month, they failed that chance miserably. Employees would rather scalp store exclusive merch than sell it to a paying customer, that's great, maybe eBay will start paying them once GS goes out of business? Because I'm right back to not supporting them as a company.

Say you take a brand new game in to sell and you never even played it but only the plastic was off. GameStop considers that a used game cause the plastic is off but when you go to buy a brand new game that just came out they go in the back get the case and then open a cabinet up and grab the game out of a paper slip and sell it as a NEW GAME. But they turn around and tell people if the plastic is off it’s not new but when they are the one selling a game it’s new to them even when the plastic is off.
