Only if I know there will be a post-credits scene or if the music is awesome. Otherwise, why bother.

Nope. I won't even stay if I know there will be an end credit scene. I'll either be able to watch it on Blu or find a site that has posted it.

Most of the time I stay, especially if I am caught up in the score. For me, as an old guy, the credits are part of the experience. Years ago, kids, the credits ran before the movie!

I always like when I'm watching an old movie and when the final scene fades out, it's just "The End." Some will take several seconds to show the main cast again but I like when it's just "The End" and nothing else.

Usually I do. Depends on the movie, score, post credit scene, etc.

Even if I know there is no Post-Credit scene, I'll stand till the end 95% of the time! I listen to the music and relax while the crowd fight to exit!

My wife and I always stay to watch the credits and listen to the score. Relax and let the movie soak in. Occasionally comment on names or places of production.

You should add a poll.

I liked how the end credit scene had a single track called "ROAR" from Cloverfield by Michael Giacchino. I can't find it outside of Youtube or Itunes. :=\

Most of the time I stay. My wife usually gets up and makes us go after the final scene...it's like she hates Post Credit scenes, but I make her stay. As I stated in the Logan thread, as soon as it went to black, I bolted out of my chair and hit the private bathroom to clean my face up. My wife said I never bolted so quickly out of the theater like that before. :O

Anyways I read most of the credit scenes and sometimes it will start listing songs.....and sometimes I am like, wait when did they play that song? Now here is an interesting question....if during production of a movie a song is played for a scene, but ultimately cut from the final film, do they still have to list it as a credit in the credits?

I usually sit through the credits, just to be sure I see everything. Even with movies I watch at home, if it's the first time I'm watching it I let the credits play in full. If I've seen the movie before tho and the credits are over 5 minutes long I may skip or fast forward though it, unless I just want to leave them on for background noise.

And there are some movies (mainly independent productions) that I like to read to see any familiar names. And you can bet I'll be scanning through all 20,000 names at the end of the credits of the new MST3K season for my name.

All the way through so that I don't miss any fun extras.

Also it allows the crowd to thin out, and --

When the lights come up, the real cinephiles who remain exchange knowing glances and bask in our superiority.

Default Reason to watch movie credits.

I like to see if there any bonus footage like the end of Ferris Bueller's Day off or any of the Marvel movies.

Depends on the film. If it's one I know has a end credit scene ahead of time, I'll sit through them.

I also sit through them sometimes to see the visual effects studios employed.

Yup, and St. George of Lucas got in big trouble for bucking that tradition.

Nope. Usually I know beforehand if there's a post credits scene and if so then I stay. Otherwise, as soon as the movie ends I'll quickly check mediastinger or some other site to see if there's anything else after the credits.

You mean you don't want to know if the film you just watched was Made in Georgia™?

When I'm with my friends, we usually play a game of "funniest name".

Dick Butter and Bill Cooch are my favourite finds.
