As far as I'm aware none that he has leaked have been released by labels other than Arrow, but there have been at least two - US editions of Hellgate and Frogtown - that have yet to come to fruition.

It's been so long since I've seen this film, I can't remember if it's good or not.

The film adaptation of Children of the Corn is nowhere near as awesome as the original Stephen King short story. King's "Children of the Corn" is concise, to-the-point, mysterious, and horrifically bleak.

As far as King film adaptations go, however, it's pretty solid.

As far as bad-but-oh-oh-so-good 1980s horror films go, it's a must-own.

The film's primary weakness to my eyes is in the central casting - Peter Horton and Linda Hamilton are so colorless and uninvolving that they might as well be a couple in a detergent commercial.

Arrow did re-release those two titles in the UK shortly after that rumour. So maybe CW assumed it was for the US.

I'm still in awe of that! Finding an uncut print of a forgotten 80's slasher film in the Library of Congress, of all places I wonder what else is in there.

Neither one seemed like they really gave a crap.

The reason I believe ITV (Thames, UK) were accidently given the Director's Cut for the second showing in 1988 was because the broadcast tape master for the premiere in 1987 had a massive glitch halfway through which forced the broadcaster to go to a poster image and give an apology for at least two mins. They obviously sent it back to the distributer and who in turn accidently sent the Director's Cut as a replacement for the second showing midweek on Thames ITV.

I figured this was coming since the current Blu-ray is distributed by Image, from which a number of Arrow upgrades have materialized, and hopefully more do (i.e. Re-Animator). I've only bought this movie on DVD and didn't know which of the two Blu-rays to go for so I'll certainly wait on this. I only watched the movie once and I'm not sure I'm crazy about rewatch value with it, and I'm a King fan, but surely Arrow will put out a spectacular package and that will tempt me. Calling it now though, there will be an aspect ratio fiasco with this.

Hopefully, if Arrow are doing a new scan of this, then they will correctly frame the entire film and not just use one framing for everything like they did with Creepshow 2 and probably House, House II and Dillinger too.

I can't agree. I felt they came off as natural and genuine. They felt like real people to me.

This movie isn't very good. In fact, I think it's crap. But everything deserves the best presentation possible, so if you're a fan, good for you. I'll be saving my money on this one, though.

This is strange film. I actually thought it was pretty decent for about 40 minutes then it got really bad especially during it's ridiculous climax.
I thought it's opening credits score was haunting.

I agree & I was grateful they weren't portrayed as they were in the short story: miserable shits. They went that route with the SyFy remake (LOL) and it was unbearable.

It's an awful series, but I love it. Part III is one of the best DTV flicks, it's a blast.

I thought there was something very creepy about the setting of the film (the cornfields). When I was growing up, for a while I lived near some cornfields, and as teenagers we sometimes hung out around them at night, looking for adventures. The cornfields were might spooky at night. It helped too that that was around the time that this was airing on cable, so we would see this on cable and then actually hang out at the cornfields and spook ourselves. So maybe for that reason I appreciate this film a bit more than some seem to.

I saw it for the first time very recently and I was in awe of it. It's now one of my favourite trashterpieces.

Still a great premise and the mood (and score) elevate it above other low budget horror movies from that time. Even those from established directors. Far far better than the most recent TV adaption/remake with the mixed couple.

As for blu-ray releases, the existing US blu-ray and German mediabook have a decent transfer with plenty of extras, so it's not like this title hasn't been around. The 88 release did not port over the existing extras.

So again we get these tales of a director's cut, I wonder what extra material would make getting this worthwile. COTC has always been a decent movie, not overstaying its welcome. I wonder in this case how much an uncut version would improve upon the existing version...

I would however without hesitation double dip if Arrow included the full score in an isolated track or as a seperate disc. It's that good!

I already have the 88 release, I'd double dip if they get Stephen King to do an audio commentary!

Hoping for the director's cut and Disciples Of the Crow as a bonus feature!
