Finally got this in today. As expected, colorful hyper-stylized wuxia eye candy with outstanding and cleverly utilized strong native 3D. Not as interesting storywise as Flyings Swords of Dragon Gate or the Detective Dee films, but still a must-own.

Definitely a must own. For me, the Dee movies are a different level, but maybe that's because Phantom Flame was one of the first Chinese movies of this type I saw. I last saw Flying Swords years ago and was bored by it, but maybe I'll feel different now, especially with the open matte version.
