If anyone here buys their movies and watch them a year later due to lack of time or too many titles to watch, be careful with this title. I bought my copy a week ago, and decided to watch it, and the movie froze and skipped at around the five minute mark. Luckily I was still on time, and exchanged it for another copy which had no trouble playing( it was the last remaining copy in the store) . I usually watch so many new releases that some titles end up being watched way after I buy them. At least I tested this one right away.

This was definitely a good one imo, did not care for blackcoats daughter at all, can someone tell me if Axe Murders of vallisca is worth picking up? I'm semi-interested, I did enjoy Antibirth & Beyond the Gates also.

Finally watched this. I thought it was pretty good. Reminds me of Lights Out. I actually thought it was better. I bet it had a lot smaller budget too.

Not a bad movie. Good blind buy for me. Reminded me a bit of The Babadook, Lights Out and a little Drag Me To Hell. Enjoyed those three better but this is still a nice indie horror film. Recommended for sure.

$7.98 right now on amazon. A really surprisingly solid horror release for the expanded horror blu collector. I expected to hate this and it was very pleasing.

This decent little flick was based loosely on the Russian folk tale of Baba Yaga, the demonic witch-creature of the woods that, among other things, meddles in families and marriages, and devours the souls of small children.

Meanwhile, the Russians are cranking out a nice variety of solid horror flicks of late, on the very same topics. They seem obsessed with creepy supernatural legends of witches and demons in the dark woods, crossing back over from the realm of the dead to meddle and interfere with the living. Thanks largely to Shout, some decent related viewing with an actual Russian film source, includes: "Baba Yaga: Terror of the Dark Forest" (2019); "The Widow" (2020); and the soon-to-release "Dark Spell" (2021). All these Russian films are heavily stylistic, kitchy, and play out like a bizarre waking nightmare, kind of like Night Watch and Day Watch. The English overdubs are so wack, you're much better off watching these modern Russian horror achievements with the original Russian language sound tracks, and English subtitles. I've been enjoying these films as a nice change of pace from the increasingly feeble and cringe-worthy newer USA horror releases of late. YMMV.
