Not that I'm a fan or anything, but not including voice work or shorts, he's got at least 16 acting credits. I wouldn't say he doesn't have a film career.

Yes, and not only that, but a few really good ones in there. Anybody who has The Social Network and Inside Llewyn Davis on their resume has an acting career.

I don't think he'll ever be a box office star, very few people are these days, but he'll definitely keep working as a supporting actor for as long as he wants.

My most anticipated film of the year. I've become a huge Allen fan in the last year, after seeing Café Society.
And... I was sure it was gonna be released in september: it's gonna be a grueling wait for sure

Anyway, a few day ago EW published some photos:
http://ew.com/movies/2017/08/10/wond...erlake-photos/

Just by looking at them I feel good.
Also, I'm very curious on how Allen will tackle the period. If I'm not mistaken it's his first film set in the 50s.

Was totally hoping this was gonna be a prequel/sequel to the Toy focusing on the brilliant Wonder Wheel. Oh well. A man can dream

Wonder, Wonderstruck, Wonder Woman, Wonder Wheel- there's definitely going to be some people who mix these 2017 films up (already I know someone who got Wonderstruck and Wonder Wheel confused when I was mentioning the 3 NYFF Gala films along with Last Flag Flying).

Because he is.

I really love Woody's recent output over his earlier stuff. So of course this is a day 1 blu and see in theater.

Let's say I have to disagree strongly on that one.

But I do want to see this movie, Winslet is always great.

Word on the street is that he might be a Best Supporting Actor contender for this.

The poster is great, although in reality, there is no building which has that exact view of the actual Wonder Wheel and there never was. Takes place in the 1950's. Will be interesting to see how they either use CGI or dress the set. Coney Island was pretty run down post WWII. It's actually in better shape now although with a lot less character, but most of the buildings that were still around in the 1950's are gone and even Nathan's looks nothing like it did back then because it was rebuilt and made completely different after Hurricane Sandy.

Timberlake is generally talented and he might be fine playing the usual Woody Allen love sap. I really don't think it's going to require a lot of range or digging really deep for a character...sort of like his "Friends with Benefits" role. Pleasant enough and not particularly annoying.

I will revisit Lonesome before seeing this one!

Any other fine film set in Coney Island?

If Allen can do for Jim Belushi what he did for Andrew Dice Clay in Blue Jasmine, I'll be well satisfied.

I thought Belushi was actually pretty great recently on Twin Peaks: The Return. I'm confident Woody can get another good performance out of him.
