How the Grinch Stole Christmas and now these movies. Hopefully Home Alone 1&2 will be the next holiday movies getting a UHD release.

Like I said in the other thread I dont know if these can really look that much better then blu given that the animation isnt that great to begin with. That being said, Ill still probably buy the set if I can get it around 25$.

Perhaps the Mods will keep the Charlie Brownish title "You're In 4K-UHD, Charlie Brown"

Agreed. Pointless release. How many different times are these going to get released? There's nothing wrong with the current blu-ray release of these. There will be virtually no noticeable improvement. Meanwhile, there are tons of Christmas/holiday animated classics that have yet to see blu-ray even once. Some that still haven't even gotten a proper DVD release!

On the plus side, you gave us the covers which hadn't been added yet. Those were nice to see.

They're not the only Christmas classics out there, even though you might think so the way these get re-released every other year.

There are many beloved Christmas specials that are shunned year after year on the blu-ray format. How about:

- All the other Rankin/Bass titles that are on various DVD sets but never got a blu-ray release (The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, Pinocchio's Christmas, Jack Frost, The First Christmas, The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold, Peter Cottontail, The Easter Bunny is Comin' to Town, etc.)

- Santa and the Three Bears (a half-dozen lousy $1-store DVD releases, but not one half-way decent release)

- The Bear Who Slept Through Christmas (VHS only)

- Cosmic Christmas (Nelvana - the one with the 3 wisemen-like aliens - VHS only)

- Claymation Christmas Celebration (and the other Wil Vinton claymation holiday specials) (DVD only)

- Fat Albert Christmas/Halloween/Easter specials (DVD only)

- Garfield's Halloween Adventure/ A Garfield Christmas (DVD only)

- Witch's Night Out/The Gift of Winter (botched remastered DVD releases)

- Mad Monster Party (Rankin Bass - lousy blu-ray release - the old DVD actually looks better with infinitely better color)

- The Halloween Tree (Warner Archive DVD only)

- Davey and Goliath holiday specials - there were several. Heck, release the whole series on blu-ray. The complete series was finally released on DVD a few years ago by a small label, but the bit-rate left a lot to be desired.

- Yogi's First Christmas (VHS only)

These are just a few examples. We all have our favorite holiday animated titles that we hold dear. My point is they keep releasing the same few over and over while there are many great titles that are left completely ignored. We don't need Charlie Brown on UHD. We already have these on a great blu-ray release. What we need are all the ones that haven't gotten proper releases. I know they are from all different studios, but it's still frustrating to see the same titles get released over and over again.

^if those titles are being shunned, it has nothing to do with these being rereleased again. Dropping these from 4K will not magically make those titles get released.

That HDR sticker looks so out of place on a Charlie Brown holiday special cover.

And I already said I realize that they are from various studios. So of course you're right. But still, how many times are we supposed to buy the same 3 specials when there are a couple dozen others I'd like to buy but can't?

They keep releasing the same 3 specials because people keep buying them. Plain and simple.

Now, I still don't see why we can't get say, "Easter Beagle" instead of some random other specials, but whatever...
