Don't get me wrong, it certainly appears to be an outstanding restoration (very reminiscent of John Farrow's The Sea Chase) only to be seemingly hit with deadly dose of noise reduction. Sad.

You cherry picked the worst screen cap out of all thirty. The others show much more grain than that one.

To be honest, the screen grabs look terrible. Certainly DNR'ed to hell.

The reviewer does say this concerning the grain.

The film's grain pattern has been naturally and finely resolved, so much so that at times it almost disappears.

Just watched my Blu-ray of "Hell On Frisco Bay" (1956) and it looks beautiful. WarnerColor is so pretty. The movie is pretty good too. I enjoyed it. Great performances.

Hell on Frisco Bay has been on my list of WAC film Blu-ray titles that I want to get for a long time now. Thanks for posting your comments/observations on the WAC release.
