In short, no. I can watch a horror-themed Christmas movie in August and not feel the slightest bit odd doing so. I enjoy watching Summer-themed movies in January as well as during actual Summer - makes no difference to me. Only thing that I may do is prefer to watch slow-burn horror films set during Winter when the weather outside my window is cool and crisp. But I won't hesitate to watch them during a heat wave in July.

May 25 - Star Wars
July 4 - Jaws
Oct 31 - Night of the Living Dead, one of the Halloween series, Wolf Man
Friday the 13th - try to watch a few of those

That's it mostly, I don't care much for Christmas but will maybe watch Lord of the Rings then if I'm home. Not sure why, just became something for me.

Wouldn't Back to the Future be a better choice for November 5th? It was a red letter date in the history of science.

How can nobody have mentioned THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE for New Year's Eve? I've watched it a couple of times on that night over the years.

Kenneth Branagh also directed two wonderful little indie films that are centered around holidays that I like to watch on those holidays:

Christmas Eve: IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER (aka A MIDWINTER'S TALE)
New Year's Eve: PETER'S FRIENDS

I''ve watched each of them many times on those nights.

November 5th in the UK is Guy Fawkes Day, so V For Vendetta would be a more appropriate choice for people living there.

I have too. The original Ocean's 11 with the Rat Pack is another one I've watched on New Years.

Halloween: either Halloween ( 1978) and/ or Halloween III
Thanksgiving: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Christmas Eve : It’s a Wonderful Life and/ or It Happened On 42nd Street

I haven’t thought of this before, but for July 4th : Mr. Smith Goes to Washington would be good to add.

Not for me. V revolves completely around November 5. And it's one of my favorite movies.

Several already mentioned, plus Strange Days every New Year's Eve (takes place on Dec. 30 & 31).

Also, I try to do an April Ape-fest every year: all the Planet of the Apes movies, plus the original King Kong & Peter Jackson's remake. Cheesy idea probably (April, Ape-ril), but any excuse to rewatch a favorite, right?

We watch the holiday Peanuts films during the respective holidays. I also make sure to watch Groundhog Day every year on the holiday.

Yes. I'll try to watch at least 1-4 but I'm hoping I can squeeze 5 and 6 into it as well.
