The theatrical version remains one of the funniest movies of the last twenty-five years - beautifully edited and razor sharp. In contrast, the unrated version is the biggest pile of s*** ever. I was horrified when I saw it.

There's hope for the theatrical since the runtime is listed at 107 minutes on Zaavi's website. I believe the unrated is 113. Also, as someone pointed out, no "unrated" on the cover. Not getting my hopes up too much but still keeping my fingers crossed.

Damn you Venkman! I was 100% sure this was just a re-pack of the cruddy unrated cut, now i'm only 98% sure! Arrrgh!

I've fired off a quick e-mail to Zavvi asking them to clarify which cut this steelbook contains.

I'm pretty sure they'll either not respond or reply with an e-mail that begins "As far as I know....." which is code for - "don't ask me, I just work here"

Haha was just gonna do the same but I'll wait to see what you hear. I sold off my theatrical DVD years ago, but if this is the unrated cut I'm gonna pick the DVD back up. The theatrical is definitely one of my all time favorites.

I will probably wind up buying this but I am going to want Zavvi now to also do a steelbook for Dumb & Dumber To. Yes the first film remains a classic all to it's own but I still enjoyed the sequel and hope they do a third one. If I had it in my hands I would also want a steelbook for D&D To.

I doubt this will be the theatrical cut only it's probably gonna be the unrated cut.

Ordered, just in case by some miracle the product listing is correct and this is finally the 107 minute Theatrical Cut!

I did take screenshots of the Zavvi product details though so if it turns out to be the 113 minute Garbage Cut yet again I can get all my monies back by thrashing them with the good old 'false advertising' two-by-four.

Place a safety order for the THEATRICAL possibility. The moment they give clarity and tell us it’s the UNRATED, the order gets cancelled. Hopefully this action will be a big trend amidst fans/collectors to tell the studio how badly we want the only version of this film that should have ever existed to be released on Blu-ray already!

We have been waiting like a decade to get a steelbook of this and you guys are threatening to cancel orders if it ain't the theatrical cut aren't u guys happy we are finally getting a steelbook after all these years?

This is all about the packaging. I can tell u it won't be the theatrical cut 99. 9%. They will reuse old uk disc. Good ol zavvi

One of the few instances where packaging means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING without the proper content included.

This is probably going to be the unrated cut, the designers of the artwork for the steelbook most likely just left unrated out of it. I don't mind the unrated cut but I do think the theatrical cut is the best version to watch for sure. Now if only Zavvi would do a steelbook for Dumb and Dumber To this would be a must purchase.

Full disclosure - I don't really care about steelbooks. Not even a little bit. I'll happily buy one if I want the contents but the packaging itself does nothing for me. I'm just in this for the 0.1% chance that Zavvi's listed product details are correct. Those are some sweet odds man!
