I can see this work well. Evans can direct amazing martial arts movies as shown with The Raid.

Man, thinking about Deathstroke with Raid-esque action makes me tingly inside.

Oh man. Ish just got real...lol I’m sure there will be some creative differences and he will fall off. Seems to happen a lot when we hear an announcement like this.

They don't have a goddamn clue about what to do. How many movies have they "announced" now?!

Why does it matter? This is how movie studios work. Ideas are pitched, treatments are written, scripts are written. At all these stages of pre-production it's easy enough to pull the plug or turn it around for a new approach. The only difference is now these ideas are based in IPs rather than being genre based. Instead of pitching generic sci-fi, fantasy, action or adventure films, filmmakers pitch ideas based on characters and stories within an IP, because that's what the studios are producing these days.

Absolutely down for this. Gareth Evans is a phenomenally underrated director.

Deathstroke at this point is more of an Anti-Hero.

But with Deadpool and Deadshot already recently paving the way, I hope they can come w/ a fresh take within the DCU.

I'd prefer an elaborate assassination film, instead of a one dimensional super-hero film.

So this sounds amazing. But will it actually happen? Warner Bros has about 15+ DC movies in some form of pre-production and it’s safe to say that most of those aren’t actually coming out.

I really hope this gets the greenlight. I love the idea of an Evans directed Deathstroke film far more than I do the idea of the character showing up as the main villain in a Batman film.

The fact that Affleck himself was vocally apprehensive about his own Batman v Deathstroke script didn't exactly inspire confidence. After having experienced War for the Planet of the Apes, I now feel like Matt Reeves will deliver a far more compelling Batffleck flick than Affleck himself would have.

If this goes ahead with a PG13 rating Warner have officially lost their minds.

Gareth Evans is one of the best action directors around because he knows how to position a camera, not to shake it about too much and when to edit his shots. Everytime I see a shitty action scene in the post Bourne landscape of shaky cam land I want to force the director to watch The Raid and The Raid 2 with their eyes clamped open Clockwork Orange style.

So a Deathstroke movie directed by him? Bring it on!

Still need to watch the Raid movies, this announcement reminded me of that. Next time they're on sale or I find em cheap, I'm gonna pick em up.

I don't even care about Deathstroke, I'm must pumped for another Gareth Evans movie.

It could still work BUT Deathstroke is boring so they'd definitely need the right star and the right director for it to succeed at the box office.

Manganiello looks the part and Evans is apparently an amazing action director. I'd say with those two they're off to a good start.
