Don't think you'll enjoy it without the English translation. It's a well written screenplay and you'll miss a lot without it.

The German version is kind of messed up. It's region b and if I recall correctly the languages are mixed up. I believe some of the dialog was in English while the Chinese characters spoke Chinese. I distinctly remember downloading English subtitles to my phone to follow the film.

Still enjoyed it enough to re-watch.

I usually sleep with the TV on and woke up to this movie playing earlier today. I thought the title sounded familiar so I looked it up and saw it's definitely is available in 3D. After reading the reviews I kinda wish I hadn't seen the last 15 minutes or so because now I know how it ends but since the consensus is that it's worth checking out it's going on my list to get. I'll try and keep an eye out for the HK version then as it sounds like the German version is sloppy with the english subtitles.

Does Jackie Chan appear in most of the movies and do a lot of fighting? That would be cool. I wanted to see this in 3D theaters but it never arrived in the US during the limited run.

Yes, as confirmed in page #1 of this thread, the original audio track for the film features a fairly even mix of English and (Mandarin) Chinese dialogue so you need English subtitles for the Chinese. The Hong Kong disc (locked to Region A) does have English subtitles, for all the dialogue, whatever language. The German disc (locked to Region B) does include the original audio track but no English subtitles at all, so you need to understand German, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish or Chinese if you're going to follow half of it.



Unfortunately in the UK the film was cut (presumably the wraparound sequences) and only released flat.

Thanks for the tip on the soundtrack. I got mine from DDDhouse along with Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe and I'm excited to check them out.

One US Amazon seller has it but wants $49.99 for the Hong Kong version.

Hi Everyone,
I missed out on getting the HK 3d Bluray. I kept putting it off on the backburner and now it appears to be OOP. I can't find it anywhere, not even used. Does anyone have a lead on where to find it for sale?

Or is anyone willing to sell their 3d HK region A bluray? I really want to see it in 3d and really want to be able to understand the whole movie. Everyone says that the German version is a no go since there are no subtitles for the Mandarin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Given that it's out of print, the only place you're ever likely to find it is used on ebay. There won't be anywhere you can just order it from for the retail price.

Any help from anyone would be great. It's looking more and more like this is a hopeless cause. I still can't believe I can't even find one for sale on ebay. I've seen at least one copy of every rare movie on there at some point. It's strange that I never ever see this one.

I know you can do that on store sites, but how do you do that on ebay?

Still no luck finding this title. I search on ebay every day.
I humbly ask again if anyone who owns a copy all of a sudden doesn't want their copy...let me know.

I'm still on the hunt for the HK 3d Blu.

Yeah, I followed that item as well. Put in a bid for 90, that's as high as I'm going for this one. I was really surprised to see it hit 150 but then again it's not on eBay all that often.
