Game recommendations?

I like racing games also and here is what I think of the ones I have.

F1 Championship Edition: great F1 racing game, great graphics, more sim than arcade

Motorstorm: great off-road racing game mixing various types of vehicles (trucks, cars, motorcycles, atvs, big-rigs, etc.)

Ridge Racer 7: nice arcade racer, fast-paced, nice graphics

DiRT: off-road racing game with pretty nice graphics (like the in-car view), sim'ish

Prostreet: pretty good arcade racer with damage, no in-car view

GT HD (and Prologue if you can still get): Nice racing sim although GT HD doesn't provide an in-car view. Neither really have any damage yet but still really nice games/demos and free.

Mx vs ATV Untamed: I really like this game but it could use more AA. Motorcycles, ATVs, etc. off-road racing. Reminds me of the Motorcross Madness type games from a few years ago.

There are demos for a lot of these so you can try them before you buy.

F1 is my favorite sim-type game. Motorstorm is my favorite off-road racing game.

I'm gonna second the "Need For Speed ProStreet is crap" comment. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Call of Duty 4 is my game of the year, but then I don't own (and have only played the demo of) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Heavenly Sword (short) and Assassin's Creed (repetitive) are both very good, apart from the flaws I've mentioned.

MotorStorm is LOTS of fun, in spite of the lack of "modes" and offline multiplayer. Stunning graphics and physics.

And as I'm musically inclined, I have (and love) both Rock Band and Guitar Hero III. Though I definitely prefer Rock Band at this point.

I personally enjoy Resistance: FOM, Guitar Hero 3, Motorstorm, and Heavenly Sword the most.

Thanks for all the recommendations, haven't been able to find Uncharted either in stores or rental joints, but I did just get Oblivion (GOTY). Also, Gran Tourismo 5 is looking good from what I've seen.

You will run across Uncharted eventually. It's is the best game on the PS3 hands down.

They have already started development on a sequel.

Yeah, my dad has a 360 and I enjoyed NFS:Most Wanted a lot. I downloaded the demo for NFS:PS and, well I think a more accurate title would inclued an 'O' in between the P and S.

Assassin's Creed is pretty good. I think the visuals are great

Need for Speed: Pro Street... the visuals are okay. I think I expected too much out of this game...

NHL 08 is fantastic

Call me old school, but I liked Rainbow Six: Vegas... it's co-op play is cool.

I've not played Call of Duty 4 yest, but I can't wait to get my hands on it!

If you like sports, Fifa 08 and NHL 08 were the two best sports releases in 07.
