Should this list flag those titles where the new Blu is available only with the UHD combo?

For example, Leon, The Fifth Element, and Dracula 'remasters' were all released as stand alone Blu prior to the UHD set.

It's a damn shame that the major labels are too lazy and too greedy to update their Blu-rays.
I guess they don't want to spend money on a new disc authoring. Rich greedy money grabbers. *Hollywood*
No restored "Jurassic Park" for example, "Blade Runner" is at least based on the same restoration.
If they won't release updated "Jurassic Park", "Star Wars" 4-6, "Back to the Future" 1-3 and "Scarface" Blu-rays with 4k restorations in the future I am going to riot.
Blu-ray is still the #1 selling format and there's not "that much" of a difference between BD and UHD, the films deserve updates for both formats.
They act like Blu-ray is a stone-age format like DVD and don't care about it.

They don't owe you anything. Corporations return value to shareholders. If their customers by whatever they serve, then there's no motivation to change.

Informed consumption is not "in". So few care about anything requiring time and patience. I blame the mass market rather than businesses.

so how has everyone's experience been with the quality of the bluray disc included in your 4K purchase?

have the majority of your 4K purchases include a bluray disc upgraded from the 4K?

or has it been the same bluray quality from previous releases?

It's usually the same Blu-ray disc that you would get if you bought the Blu-ray separately. Sometimes they might strip out some of the special features but typically, it's identical.

It's not an upgraded Blu-ray in any sense.

The only exception to that I'm aware of is Unforgiven, which came with a remastered Blu Ray that has not yet gotten an individual release so the 4K set is the only way to get it.

It should be noted that the new Tomb Raider disc uses an old 2009 AVC encode however. The lossless audio is new though.

This will get merged into the other thread, but just to keep in mind, some UHD releases also coincide with a new blu ray release, so the included blu ray is better than previous releases even if it's not an exclusive. ie: the new Dark Crystal anniversary release.
