Thanks for sharing! I have been waiting to see what the setup is going to be for the extra channels and how Auro will tie into existing configurations. This will be some light reading for the evening for sure.

AV8805 NEW Features and Upgrades:
* FLEXIBLE Audyssey MultEQ XT 32 processing. Now you have the ability of input target curves as well as (IMPORTANT) flexible EQ cut off points. For those of you who did not want auto EQ before because you heard a roll-off (less top end “air”), you now have a solution. If you felt the need to add bottom end, now you can add in a contour/target curve.
* Auro-3D is now included with a free firmware upgrade.
* More flexible connectivity by adding two more channels for 13.2 Channel Preamp processing with 15.2 channel outputs. Capable of. 7.1.6 or 9.1.4. DTS:X and Auro-3D (up to 13.1).
* Multiple hardware changes resulting in sound quality enhancements (see section below this one).
* Stream multiple music platforms using the new HEOS embedded feature/app. Like SiriusXM, Tidal, Spotify, Pandora,TuneIn internet radio and even your own ripped music files. Control and play different songs with your smart phone including Zone2 and Zone 3 with the same intuitive app. Then expand this platform with more than a dozen other HEOS brand products.
* The 12volt trigger was reworked using a heavy duty MOSFET driver for better reliability.
* 4K/60 Hz full rate pass through, 4:4;4 color resolution, HDR, BT2020, Dolby vision, and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma).
* Soon to be released eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) via a firmware update which support support object-based audio.
* Improved network stability using WiFi and Bluetooth.
* HDMI Diagnostic features are now included.
* Network streaming that supports high resolution standards like DSD (2.8/5.6MHz), FLAC, ALAC, and WAVsupport.

AV8805 NEW Audio Enhancements (Over and above the 8802A):
* Isolation plates were added between the transformer and the chassis to further reduce noise and vibration.
* Installed additional shielding and isolation between the DSP’s and the audio PCB’s (printed circuit boards).
* More powerful and faster DSP’s that also enables the more flexible XT-32 app ($20). IMHO, don’t underestimate the importance of this app with sound quality.
* New layout of the DAC board (shorter signal path) resulting in improved measured jitter reduction.
* Measurable improvements were also realized using a new volume control chipset (JRC). Additionally, the PCB layout now has an even shorter signal path. It should be noted that D&M engineering was involved in the development of the JRC volume chip. More on that later...
* Multiple shorter signal paths were used like removing some ribbon cables and the total amount of wires that further reduced noise.
* 2018 updated HDAM’s (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) now with precision matched discrete devices. This is a small update as compared to the 8802 HDAM upgrade.

In summary on the audio tweaks. They're mostly signal path upgrades. Engineering says "it sounds better". We shall see...

I have not checked that one out, but will hunt it down. Expendables 2 and Dredd were both in DTS Neo X, as they also had width channels in the mix. Audyssey DSX was also pretty good at what it routed to the width channels also. Can’t wait to hear what the 8805 is going to do with them though.

None of my Neo:x blu-ray's activate the width channels or height visually. Only Arrival shows the width active, like in the picture. But I know the audio is playing correctly from the sound test.
I also have the German steelbook of I, Frankenstein which is also Neo:X if your looking for 1 more title.

I had not heard about The German version of I Frankenstein, but checked it out online. Very cool looking Steelbook. You also just cost me $5.60 as I just ordered the Arrival. Hopefully I don’t show up on some list for buying a Charlie Sheen movie.
