Aren't Shameless a two men and a kitchen table affair? I'm sure CultFilms is simply the same two guys and kitchen table.

Not that I'm belittling such arrangements as Signal One are living proof that a quality catalogue label can be run on very limited means.

The audio quality on that one is pretty good overall. It just sucks there is no solid release of this one.

Give me Koch/Shameless video hybrid with Shameless audio but with the moment of piercing noise during the finale corrected.

I’d pay extra dollars to a GoFundMe for this if it’d guarantee the disc was overseen by the Mackenzie brothers for final authoring and mastering etc. Not optimistic sadly.

The audio is great until that point. The screw-up just ruins the experience if you are playing it through an amp.

The image on the Italian release is rather good, being the middle-ground between Shameless' edition and the Koch disc, with nice-looking film inserts on the missing material, but has no provisions for English in any way.

For CultFilms they work off the kitchen table.

For Shameless they work off their laps in the living room while watching the footie.

Actually, I don't care if they work off their laps whilst sat having a dump, as long as the product is good, and they wash their hands before packing the discs.

I had a US import of Opera pencilled in, but I'll be waiting for reviews of this now.

I can;t say I'm overly hyped about Shameless doing this one. Didn't Arrow have it on DVD a few years back. THere's no way that SHameless will do this to the level that Scorpion are going to do on thier upcoming special edition.

One of the interesting things about the forthcoming Scorpion deluxe edition is that it will supposedly also include a 16:9 version without black bars. Personally I can live without that. Bar the fact that it's clearly not the correct ratio, I'm not enamoured with the prospect of seeing the Cristina Marsillach actress wearing underwear when her character was meant to be naked. It introduces film 'fluffs'.

There's a lot of talk at the US/Scorpion thread about the various soundtracks, and different issues with them.

If anyone from Cult/Shameless is reading this, please have a check on what's going on, and try to provide the best possible, hopefully including all of the different options.

It looks very much like buyers of the single disc version are stuck with one version, whilst those wanting the others are having to wait for the (doubtless expensive) 3 disc release.

My Japanese and German blu-rays had noticeable hiss on the audio. I'm hoping that won't be an issue on this release. Apparently (having read the US thread) once the hiss is no longer present, an 'echo' effect is noticeable. Supposedly this is down to source material and not an actual audio fault.

There's a bit of reverb effect on the 5.1 track and the stereo track, but it's far less noticeable on the stereo track IMO.

Yup, those were the posts to which I was referring.

As I say, if the UK is a standard release, rather than some multi-disc (multi-£) extravaganza, It'd be great if it had all the soundtrack options.

I think this just sold me on the deluxe. I'm only familiar with the second English version (general release one).. I planned on the deluxe anyways, but was wavering as of late.

Shameless said on their Facebook page 4 weeks ago: "More to be revealed soon - keep those eyes pinned open..."

No update since then...

Why would you choose that rubbish company releases over those?? Shameless transfers suck... Lots of work went into Argentos films from Scorpion and they are superb releases which we can't really say about Shameless

Cult Films in their last Indigogo update on the Suspira UHD:

"Thank you one last time for your backing, you've all been wonderful! This has been a learning curve for us and we are grateful for all of your support and your patience! Continue to check CultFilms for upcoming releases including a beautiful restored Opera by Dario Argento coming soon!"

No real new, but any update on an Argento release makes me happy
