They only ever state the 'standard' aspect ratio, never if it changes for the IMAX scenes. So I wouldn't worry at this stage, if anything I don't know why you're worrying so much, Thor 3 and every other Marvel release features the IMAX scenes for the 3D releases. Just as every Disney release since about 2010/11 has been region free.

In any case the point still stands as none of the other releases list two aspect ratios. |

Picked up the 2D version from Morrisons and they stuck the 3D case into the 2D slipcase. Only noticed when I got home and went to check out the disc. Was a nice surprise getting an upgrade at no extra price.

I was pretty unimpressed by Black Panther in the cinema and only got the BR as I have all the MCU films.
Watched it today and really enjoyed it. Don't know what was wrong with me when I seen it in the cinema - maybe it was a bit over-hyped. 100% one of the best Blu Ray transfers I have ever seen. Apart from some shoddy CGI the film looked STUNNING. Real nice slipcover too. |

Got my regular 2D yesterday in the post. Great picture, really brings out (besides some of the less great CG) the quite beautifully framed cinematography. Details are fantastic down to every texture, facial pore and landscape, the ancestral plane scenes look particularly superb. One gripe I have though. The audio is for want of a better word, pants. In the same vain of the Last Jedi's release, the whole track feels subdued or mixed too low below reference level. Gunfire doesn't crackle, just fitzes, punches and body impacts barely even connect and huge effects such as the seismic cannon on Klaue's arm and the blasts from Panther's kinetic energy infused suit barely even rumble when they should aggressively dominate their scenes. The dialogue is good, if you bump up your system a few notches, the music sounds very rich but even raised levels do not fix the very underwhelming nature of the track, especially when it comes to action setpieces and the LFE output. I really hope Disney sorts this problem before Infinity War. Coco sounded much better than this so not sure what's going on with the live action releases. Enjoyed watching the movie again very much though.

I thought the audio was quite disappointing, it was one of those tracks where you were left wondering if the sub woofer was turned on (it was). It was underwhelming to the point where you question whether its worth switching the AVR on at all.
