HMV's pricing for this 4K release is reasonable (£24.99) in comparison to Zavvi's £32.99 for Thor, BP and Star Wars

The distributor of this film is 20th century fox in the UK so it could go either way region locked to B or region free

yes all 4k movies are region free, but the blu ray copy in it might not be as 20th century fox sometimes lock the discs in the UK to region B or region free it's mixed

black sabbath, I've preordered this I haven't got a 4k player, but the steelbook looks great, the 4k film in this steelbook will not be region locked as all 4k films are region free, but the blu ray copy might or might not be region locked, as this will be distributed by 20th century fox most likely that the blu ray version is region locked to B, I got kingsman golden circle on 4k steelbook, the 4k was region free, but the blu ray was locked to B

I'd say Kingsman is more of an abherration from Fox. The blu of the first film was also region locked for no apparent reason (both titles region free elsewhere). Alien Covenant, War for the Planet of the Apes, Hidden Figures were region free. Logan and Kingsman weren't. I would think the chances are higher that this would be at least region A/B, but Fox might randomly decide to lock it for no good reason...

do blu-ray reviews for UK releases usually get published before the release date? do you think we'll get confirmation of the blu-ray's region coding before this sells out online?

If i pre-order this from HMV can i cancel it before it ships if i find out it's region locked?

so according to this, the recent North American release is Region A locked :

does this bode poorly for a Region A friendly Europe release? Do these things usually correlate with each other (i.e if it's locked in Region A it will be locked in Region B) or am I reading too much into it?

The region A blu ray might be locked because it is out earlier than the region B. Guess we will find out when the UK/Euro one releases.

The last Fox release I know of that was locked in region A was also locked in region B: Logan. And presumably for similar reasons (coming out months before the UK release). However that doesn't mean this one will be locked, but I would say it's a safer bet to assume it will be.
