I enjoyed it. Note to other movies, pay attention, gun shots should kick my seat like they did in this movie.

Picked up a cheap used copy yesterday, watched about 20 minutes before nodding off but it wasn't the movie's fault (long day). I actually liked what I saw so far, hopefully the rest of the movie lives up the hot start. Butler's chewing so much scenery I'm surprised they have any left.

Finished it last night, surprisingly solid. Nothing mind-blowing but it held my attention and wasn't totally predictable towards the end.

The commentary is good, lots of technical detail in there. Gonna check out the unrated cut at some point, which they refer to as the director's cut on the commentary.

Just saw Den of Thieves on Blu. Excellent, and my top film of 2018 (so far).

Technical review:

The PQ was gorgeous & flawless. I liked the 'hard' lighting (for lack of a better word), even during the day-time scenes. Definitely one the best Blu's I've seen. The audio was also incredible - especially during the firefights. I had to turn the sound down on my set because it was REALLY loud.

The film:

A great action movie with a very intelligent & suspenseful script; great acting as well - the casting here was perfect.

I liked the idea of representing LE & the criminals as being two sides of the same coin - which was perfectly summed up re: the iconic line by Gerard Butler's character, "You’re not the bad guys. We are."

The thieves were very clever in

Funny scene re: showing two women eating the days-old Asian food (that had not been refrigerated & had obviously gone bad), and one of them accepting the taste - and the other wanting to get her money back - LOL. As a big fan of Asian food myself (primarily Chinese & Thai), I could really appreciate this - ha ha.

Great, unexpected finale as well. These last scenes reminded me a lot of

Re-watched the DC again last night. It's a pretty enjoyable heist film. Butler really steals the show. Some great action and gun fights. Looking forward to the sequel.
