Okay, your Mill Creek discs might be super low budget and all, but when Amazon puts drops the price of TGIF and Yor to eight bucks, I'm finding it really hard to pass. Eight bucks is the right price for this amount of cheese and this amount of effort into the discs.

I've never watched this movie and was in diapers when this came out. I hate disco music. So, why did a pre-order this??
Looks like a great time-capsule and a pretty fun movie. Hope I'm right. Plus, I always thought Terri Nunn was cute as buttons and quite beautiful as a solo artist in the 90's.

It’s a fun little movie. Lots of characters doing silly things. Good original soundtrack mostly with cuts produced exclusively for this movie. Would have been a blast if the producers secured the music rights for the real dance hits of the period like the producers of “FM” did for their dj rock comedy from Universal, also released that summer. Watch for a young Debra Winger and swarmy Jeff Goldblum.

I went to the WORLD PREMIERE of that film... back in 1980, it was held here in Sydney Australia.... gee... I'm feeling old again

PQ on the clip here looks horrible and I'm dreading the job Mill Creek will do on this now.

I'll check my DVD copy tonight, but I certainly don't remember those kinds of artifacts on that scene before.

I think they want to hide something with the digitally added lines.
The actual Blu won't have this.
They probably want to hide excessive DNR or they don't want us to see the full quality yet.

Well first of all it's a you tube clip so hard to judge much of anything...I wouldn't expect much though it's what 8 something on Amazon and it's mill creek. I will say it's a dark scene, heck the whole movie is in a dark club and at night...it's going to be iffy because of those factors alone to begin with.

The youtube clip has plenty of macroblocking also. Easy to dismiss since "it's just youtube, it's obviously highly compressed", but I can point to a ton of other clips of vintage films at 1080p that don't display that. Most Warner Archive clips I see for example.

And the vertical lines are something else entirely. I believe I've seen that phenomena before, but I can't recall just where atm.

What's odd is that this clip is specifically to aid in promoting this release and they choose to put their worst foot forward. Unless they want people to know beforehand what a POS disc it is.

My expectations for this were never high, but now they are fully in the negative zone.
I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

I'm a huge Donna Summer fan (40+ discs and another 20 records), love Casablanca Records disco in general, but was gonna pass on this (I have the DVD). But at that price.... I can't.

BTW those mentioning the soundtrack, there was a very well done 2 CD remaster about 15 years back. It may be long out of print now, though.
