The thing with this movie, while gorgeous, is that it's obviously over saturated at times. Now, I don't pretend to know what I'm talking about, but a part of me worries how that will transfer over with "HDR".

A little expensive, $29.98 but it should go down

.
It's a Universal catalog title so it will for sure be $20 upon release just like Straight Outta Compton this week or The Incredible Hulk which has already dropped.

DAY. ONE.

I saw it *11* times in theatres when it was initially released and I am not ashamed to admit it. While everyone was obsessing over The Dark Knight, I was taking everyone I knew to see this wonderful film.

Nah, I agree. The blu at times makes the entire cast look like they're having a psoriasis breakout.

Too bad my wife bought the DVD as I'm less likely to buy it now. On the other hand, maybe I'll buy it in 4k and watch it with her as I've never seen it.

Oh well... I'll take any excuse for a 4k release as long as they do a good job on it. It is Universal, though, so I'm not holding my breath.

Streep's face is so airbrushed on the cover, she looks like Luna Lovegood.

She was 59 while doing Mamma Mia. That was ten years ago and ten years added onto a 59 year old can do terrible things to one's appearance if your comparing her to what she looks like today.

So, Yes, ten years ago she might have looked like a "Luna Lovegood" without being airbrushed

Hey, at my age, even a 69 year old can look like a "Luna Lovegood"

This movie is DANGEROUS for me. When I initially saw it in theaters (on my birthday, no less), I hated it. Despised it. I think my main reasoning at the time was their cutting my favorite song that was on the soundtrack from the film ("The Name of the Game"), but also because watching Pierce Brosnan sing literally hurt my body. And the acting at times. But anyway, I still bought it when it was released on Blu-ray, and now, whenever I watch it, I can't just watch it once, folks, oh no.. It continues on in a loop for at least 12 hours usually. Seriously. I mean, it's a perfect movie to have on in the background. The main complaint I have about the movie now, and I know it's a nitpick, is the "night" scenes that were obviously filmed during the day. They're so glaring and obvious. A 4K presentation will probably only make it more so. Will I still buy it? Abso-friggin'-lutely.

that cut made me livid, but my fave song that wasn't even planned being filmed for the movie version was 'Under Attack'

in terms of 'The Name of the Game' - the filmed deleted number isn't as polished sounding as the studio/album version, I'm glad the producers of the soundtrack finalized the song for release.

Mamma Mia 4K down to $17.96.

That's getting cheap enough

I see the sequel 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' is listed on several Scandinavian webshops as 'Coming on 4K UHD'.

On RealOrFake 4K the following was stated regarding Mamma Mia...

-----------------------

"It is not real 4K in any material way due to having a final master at 2K. Studios have upscaled the 2K image to 4K and retouched the content for your 4K UHD TV. You should see some visual improvement over a standard 1080p Blu-ray."

-----------------------

"You should see some visual improvement..."

Maybe it's not worth upgrading if I should see improvement

I've never seen it, but I'll likely pick up the 4K.

The "real or fake" web-site should be taken down. Meantime, could we all agree to ignore it here? Sincerely.

I fail to see the point of that website. No one should be using it to decide if they should buy something or not since many of the best titles on the format are so called "Fake 4K."
