Aside from an instance of dealing with a bad employee, I’ve never had any issues with them. I’ve never paid for shipping once on my orders but I’m an elite plus member. I’ve bought TVs, appliances, movies, computers, etc and I’ve been happy with the service. Sad thing is you just can’t find as many movies in store as you once were able to. I remember when the movie section spanned large, now its tiny in comparison. While I totally understand why, I wish they had a larger selection of movies to choose from.

This no free shipping "glitch" happened to me most recently when I pre-ordered the Thor Ragnarok 4K steelbook...It was, of course, $0.01 short at $34.99 so while I was trying to find something I wanted in order to get free shipping, several non-movie items and newer 4K/blus I added just increased the shipping cost to around $10. I tried having one $50+ item in my cart and it showed $ shipping but when added to the Thor order gave me free shipping.
The order that ended up giving me free shipping was Thor and an older cheap blu. I think it really must be a glitch or major inconsistency in their website. They're saying movies aren't involved in free shipping over $35 but it does for some...just not the order you want to make. |

Ok, I was the thread starter here and I was *****ing and moaning about Best Buy seemingly adding shipping charges to 4K movies, even after meeting the $35.00 purchase threshold. After several posts from many of you and going back and playing with the original purchase attempt, I discovered that by changing the available shipping dates on one of the 4K movies, it kicked in an individual shipping charge for each 4K movie on the invoice, and by changing it back to a later shipping date, the shipping charges vanished and I made the purchase.
All this has already been explained in an earlier post and I was reading this thread just now and saw that the thread had gone in a couple of different directions since my initial post. I say all this to make this one point.....there were many of you who came to the defense of Best Buy when I first started this thread, and I completely understand that, as I too have bought a ton of 4K movies from them in the last year or so. However, maybe Best Buy should look at who they have responding to complaints on social media. Even though everyone who has read this thread knows that Best Buy didn't add a new "shipping charge" to 4K movies, and instead it was due to a quirky nature within the invoice software (best I could do), here is the response I got from Best Buy when I initially complained.... Michael, I do apologize that you are not happy with this change. While we are always looking for new ways to improve our service for our customers, I can understand your disappointment with the addition of shipping charges on Blu-ray purchases. I hope that we can make it up to you in the near future. ^Vince Duh...........I think I'll just leave this one alone. |
