This apparently came out in December of last year and now it's April and still no US blu-ray or DVD release (or many releases at all -- I spot only one release listed on the Seberg page) in sight. It's an Amazon studios title so I went to Amazon and even the listing to watch it on Prime Video says it's currently unavailable with this notice: "Our agreements with the content provider don’t allow purchases of this title at this time."
Is there something going on with this or some sort of delay? I'd really like to watch this, and I'd especially like to own it and watch it. Okay... correction as I searched around before posting this. They did a limited release of Seberg to qualify for awards in December and apparently a theater release (I never heard about it?) in February according to the movie's Wikipedia page. Still no sign of a digital or physical release date anywhere that I can see, though. |

I saw it in theatres the last week of Feb before theatres shut down. It’s an Amazon film so don’t expect a DVD or Bluray in the US, much like Late Night and others, you will have to import it. The only digital release it will get is on a Amazon Prime and It probably won’t be streaming on Prime till end of May/early June knowing how their release model works. |

This is currently streaming free for Amazon Prime members.
I only know Jean Seberg from Godard's BREATHLESS and knew nothing about her personal life, but found SEBERG to be a fascinating and ultimately tragic exploration of the FBI's efforts to discredit and essentially destroy her career as a result of her support for civil rights and activist groups. Kristen Stewart is terrific here, giving us a portrait of a woman who's both sensitive and yet filled with a tough and steely resolve, but who can only do so much against forces this powerful against her. Stewart continues to impress. She's quietly - almost surreptitiously - building a phenomenal resume of performances in indie and underseen films such as ADVENTURELAND, STILL ALICE, PERSONAL SHOPPER, ON THE ROAD, CERTAIN WOMEN, CAFE SOCIETY and more, showing her true talent as an actress in roles both large and small. |

I got to see a screening of this last winter and was really impressed. You'd never guess this movie was made for just 9mil. It's small-scale, but very lush, great cinematography, great performances. Doesn't oversell the political paranoia angle, deft touches throughout, leaves you wanting more. Looking forward to seeing it again on Amazon (but would have bought the blu- if there'd been one.)
