No interest in Schindler's List (I already know the Holocaust was bad, don't need to see a film about it) or The Terminal, Amistad or Lincoln. I thought A.I., War Of The Worlds, Catch Me If You Can and Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull were crap.

* I found Schindler's List and Munich to be incredibly unpleasant films that I got no enjoyment from watching. I can't put a film as a best or favorite that I don't enjoy. They are obviously well made films...

* shocked to say that I still haven't seen Always and The Terminal.... especially since I own them!!!

I get that Schindler's List is an important film it is that I just don't feel like putting myself through it. I even had my mother write a note getting me out having to watch it in school when they showed it. I am glad the film is made, I just have no interest in it. Same goes for Amistad.

I can absolutely respect many (but not all) of those as good filmmaking, but personally I do not enjoy them nearly as much as the rest of his films, and that's how I decided to rank them - Personal enjoyment.

You should absolutely watch Always! I think it is Spielberg's most underrated film. It's funny, it's romantic, and it definitely has that old Spielberg magic feel.
...plus, Audrey Hepburn!

I have a month, I'm gonna make it a goal to watch this and The Terminal... I can edit my list later if they become contenders...

I haven't seen enough to make a list, but this seems relevant.
Missing out on a directing nomination for Jaws, with the late great Joe Spinell and Frank Pesce.

Here's a good video of how Spielberg can use sound to amplify the experience and shape his films:

We all know who directed Poltergeist (1982), it'd between 12 and 13 on a different list
