I don't no which is sadder, Grave or Kaguya. I think I cried more with Kaguya.

My favorite movie of his was Only Yesterday however. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. It's also like the total opposite of the movies I previously mentioned. A true feel good film.

It's a shame he didn't get the opportunity to make the other projects that he wanted. Hopefully, much like the osamu tezuka after his death, we'll be able to see some of it animated or otherwise.

Well with Grave of the Fireflies, you can already tell what is going to happen at the start of the movie and then it goes into the how which is more brutal then you would think if it's your 1st time viewing it. Kaguya depends on how well you know about the story beforehand.

I say GOTF is the more emotional movie while Princess Kaguya is an excellent adaptation of its story.

I find it very interesting that Miyazaki first met Takahata at a bus stop just after it had rained.
I wonder if that was the inspiration for this?
