All these reported sales statistics, while they are nice, do lack the emotional impact of the Warner bombshell.

Unless BDA has something up thier sleeve for later in the week, the BDA blew all thier announcements prior to CES

Default Well....

While the conference isn't as good so far as I was hoping I did notice a link at the bottom of the Blog to another one that is talking about Target going Blu Exclusive. This would be a nice little slap to the face of the HD camp.

Sorry, but I don't think the BDA actually releases movies. That would be individual studios. If the BDA is talking hardware sales, well ... that's what they're there for - to push Blu-Ray hardware.

Q. Can we start talking about the Blu-ray recorders.
A. Again, Andy says it's up to the manufacturers, and the DVR is very popular.

A. He says to see Universal now and if we all asked they might change their mind.
Huh?

The BDA is not there to push hardware, they're pushing a format (hardware and software).

All the hardware vendors had individual press confereneces today and yesterday.

As for this particular press conference, the panel was all studio execs for the most part.

Seems like the big action today was the Blu Ray interactivity demo.

maybe the BDA feels they dont have to announce any titles because WB and New Line announced thier exclusivity....who knows,we better hear some title announcements over the next 3 days....i dont care about how much hardware has been pushed i want to know what i can look forward to..thats just my opinion on things.

I seem to remember last year no big title announcements either. People always assume there will be from the BDA, but I think the others are right. They are there to push the format. Individual studios will announce their titles, usually just Q1 lineups.
