Anaglyph 3D hurts my eyes. Especially after being spoiled with how fantastic real 3D is.

I always thought The Mask and 13 Ghosts did the best job because they didn't require the glasses all the time. I remember seeing Coraline at a studio screening and my eyes were watering and I was struggling to focus on what they wanted me to focus on throughout the whole picture. I wanted to look at the backgrounds, but when I tried, my eyes would cross because the 3D was focused on the characters.

As a lifelong 3D fan, this thread depresses me.

Speaking of, how is the Blu-ray? On DVD, you need magenta/green glasses and any TV will do. Is that the same way on the Blu-ray, or did they change it to requiring a 3D TV and switch to polarized 3D glasses?

I have a real 3D blu ray of Coraline. Not sure if there's also an anaglyph version out there.

Yes, it's featured on the original 2-disc edition released in 2009. Came with glasses even. Not sure if rereleases have it though.

I had a real 3D copy too, but never got a chance to view it.

Not B&W but just as a laugh I am linking y'all to a campy Indian horror movie that was released on blu-ray in anaglyph 3D, in case anyone's feeling brave

Anaglyph sucks. Buy a DLP projector, get real 3D.
