Ordered it this morning through Amazon Canada; just under 29$can. Love that creepy slow burner. It said "in stock".

Ugh, wondering if I should just do that, too, instead of waiting on Amazon US. There's also a seller from Australia on Ebay selling it for about the same price. Wonder which would get to US faster...

The Amazon US listing just went to third-party seller only. Two sellers from Switzerland and one Australian. The seller that's on Amazon.ca (M + L) is also here and says it ships from Germany.

The running time of the Umbrella Blu ray is 89mn20, not 86 like blu-ray.com says it is.

The Tony Williams commentary track is very frustrating especially at the end, where there are looooong moments of silence. But the other one is much more fun to follow, where the 3 cast members constantly remember the shooting, fun anecdotes, both technical and some acting challenges, personal stuff as well - and it's brilliantly moderated by Mark hartley who know when to ask the good questions at a proper moment. too bad John Jarratt was some kind of a a-hole sometimes, especially towards Jackie Kerin. i found it really stupid of him.

Default Next of Kin AUDIO

Has anybody tried ripping the audio from the Blu-Ray release of Next of Kin (1982). There are bits of music which is unique to the film. If not, I would request the wizards out there to enlighten how this can be done without the dialogue. Thanks in advance

No because we don't discuss how to rip Blu-Ray.

While technically this is possible, the music is not stored separately from the dialogue and sound effects on the audio track. On a 5.1 track, dialogue generally (not always, but most of the time) originates from the centre speaker, so that channel can easily be dropped. The problem here is the sound effects, foley etc... that stuff is mixed in with the music, so you're gonna have all that stuff ruining your listening experience after you've ripped the audio.

I'm out of the US and am definitely picking this up. I like Severin and all, but I feel like any Australian films Umbrella releases I should get from Umbrella. Is that weird?

The Umbrella looks beautiful and is region free, if it’s any help.

I got the Second Sight Blu-ray. Noticed it reads region B, but I put it in my main region A player and it plays. Then it also has the Umbrella label attached, so I guess it's ABC regardless of the Second Sight release.
