I think they should drop the Blu-Ray logo from Steelbooks, so going forward people could just put their UHD discs in them. (I'm sure many do anyway, but it would irk me.)
4K UHD Disc it's still Blu-ray as quoted by UHD alliance themselves
Ultra HD Blu-ray

Yes you need a 4K TV and 4K UHD Blu-ray Player to watch in 4K but technically it's still a Blu-ray
So having Blu-ray logo on a spine is still correct

I bought all 5 of the John Carpenter Blu Steelbooks (The Fog, Escape From NY, They Live, Assault on Precinct 13 & Prince of Darkness) from deepdiscount.com between $14-$16/each. Just wait until a couple weeks before the release date, usually get on their periodical 15% off sale along with free shipping on orders over $25 & no sales tax.

However, if you want the lithographs/posters, you have to order from Scream direct & their prices usually do not go down until several months after release.

Though I prefer the Zavvi steelbook, The Howling is just one of those films i've had a great difficulty getting into throughout the past decade.

I totally get why it has such a cult following and even why some prefer it over An American Werewolf in London, but something about The Howling just never clicked for me.

Hell, i'll probably have a much easier time sitting through the ultra-trashy Reb Brown/Christopher Lee sequel and I really liked that one awesome sequel I once saw involving sideshow freaks back in the late 90s. The original is just...really blah and unmemorable for me.

Great steelbook. Better than Zavvi’s imho. Now bring on the next wave!

Has anyone elses price not updated on amazon for their pre-order? The other 2 did, but this one hasn't yet. Strange.

Never bought from there before but this is definitely noted & will try them out for sure.

The Shout Factory steelbook has better artwork compared to the Zavvi one.

I think they both look awesome. The SF for the more detailed & red. Zavvi for the more classic look.

No update yet!

Chatting with another incompetent CSR and getting nowhere with trying to get them to adjust my order

What price were you looking at? Today it is down to $19.61, was that the price you saw on the 31st?

My Zavvi (Studio Canal) Steel arrived today.
Getting both, hopefully the extras on each are different.

edit: as for covers, still love my original embossed dvd slip best.

My pre-order still didn't get a price update, so I cancelled and re-ordered all three. Never had a problem with the pre-order price guarantee before.

My price hasn’t changed, but here is what I will do: absolutely nothing.
The price will change by release day. Always does.

Actually, I had to cancel my order with Amazon and re-order as well. There's something wrong with the listing and they couldn't correct it.

Got this and Army of Darkness today from Amazon. Howling was damaged, the back cover is completely bent in. Fortunately Amazon's return process is cake.

Received my Shout Steel yesterday afternoon from Amazon (sigh).
Even though it was sandwiched between two other fliks in amarays (in a bubble mailer), the Steel has two small (but noticeable to me) scratches UNDER the cellophane.
Not enough damage to warrant a return in Amz eyes I suspect but still frustrating.
Now have both the US and UK Steels of this loved film, happy at least to own them...

So I think the answer is pretty obvious but, does the steelbook feature StudioCanal's new remaster or is the same transfer from the original CE? Just thought I asked.
