I have LA Takedown on DVD - it came as an extra on a region 2 dvd release of Heat I have... and yeah it’s pretty underwhelming.

This has always been one of my favorite Mann films. I think the only reason it's rarely mentioned amongst his best is that it was a TV Movie. The cast is great, Richard Moll is also in the movie; now I know where Dave Gahan got his inspiration for his look during Songs Of Faith and Devotion.

I don't recall seeing L.A. Takedown in its entirety but from what I remember, it resembles a low budget version of Heat.

Just watched my copy after work. First time seeing the complete movie as I have only watched various clips on Youtube, and boy what a difference after seeing it all in this glorious transfer. I envy those who saw it many years before I did on it's original TV run. Needless to say, I absolutely loved the film (and that kickass Sympathy for the Devil instrumental).

Not just lower budget, but also an early, not-fully-realized draft too.

Never thought this would get a blu-ray release, maybe there's hope for The Keep?

All Kino titles are Region A locked.
