Wow, I am happy. Hayek and Banderas in the same movie again. I hope they have screentime together!

Tom Hopper Joins ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ Sequel

Tom Hopper, one of the stars of Netflix’s hit freshman series, The Umbrella Academy, has signed on for The Hitman’s Bodyguard sequel from Lionsgate and Millennium Media. Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, and Richard E. Grant are returning for the follow-up along with director Patrick Hughes. Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas, and Frank Grillo are also on board as filming is currently underway.

Hopper, who also starred in the Starz series Black Sails, will play Magnusson, another bodyguard in the film.

I really think that movies as Hitman's Bodyguard should only be one movie. There is no need for a sequel. We all want to see more new movies with new casts rather than old movies with old cast. But hey I respect it anyway

I don’t understand why some movies in late summer and fall are jumping ship this early when we still don’t know what things will be like then. Tenet, Wonder Woman, and Mulan are waiting it out so why wouldn’t this movie? It’s still four months away and a lot can change before then. They just gave a up possible good release date with almost no competition to go up against. Why not at least wait another month or two?

I’m still holding my breath and praying they don’t movie Conjuring 3 and Halloween Kills a whole year.

It'd be one thing if this had just wrapped filming not too long ago, but they wrapped a year ago! This film must be at least somewhat close to finished.

They moved Antebellum to a week before this movie was supposed to come out. So it must be that Lionsgate probably didn’t want two of their films competing with each other in such a short time frame. This could especially be the reason since Lionsgate has barely made any money from theatres this year and needs every film they do manage to release in theatres this year to do well.

The film cost $30 mil. It made $180,650,747 Worldwide, Jackson/Reynolds are a powerhouse combo, and the film is hilarious.

$180.6 million box office on a $30 million budget. Also, a lot of people actually liked the first movie.
