Over an hour to see Nosferatu at The Castro theatre in San Francisco with a restored print and the score played on a pipe organ. It was awesome

I often travel an hour and 20 to my nearest imax.
But I did see AvP in Austin Texas, so that’s technically a 21hr door to door trip

As I've always lived in large cities (Munich, London, Bristol UK, Portland OR, San Francisco, Sydney, Berlin), to the other end of town (45 minutes at most)

Two hours (4 total) to watch Interstellar in 70mm IMAX. It was worth it every second of that trip.

I helped on a long-distance move out to Illinois many years ago, back when I was living in Massachusetts. We took a break one evening and saw State of Grace at a mall in Indiana. I guess that counts.

Driven many miles to many places to catch one-off screenings, too many to remember.
Although I did fly from Australia to New Zealand to see the cinematography documentary "Visions of Light"
And walked 7 miles to see Ken Russell's 'Mahler' when I was a teenager (because I didn't have a car)

I took a 5-hour bus to NYC for a 4am showing of Infinity War in IMAX.

I stayed in the city for a few days and watched it a second time to make it worth it.

For Christmas one year my aunt got me 25 dollars in gift cards for an AMC theater. Unfortunately the closest one, is about 40 or so minutes away. So yeah.

Have driven from Tucson to Phoenix (about 100 miles) several times to see films in a real IMAX theater.

But before that, I drove up to Phoenix once to see an independent film that never saw a theatrical release in Tucson (Below in 2002).

I was only 12 or 13 in 1977 or else I would have been tempted to make the drive up to see Star Wars which only made it to Tucson in August. We also had the same delay for Empire in 1980. But by 1983 we had enough screens in Tucson to get Return at the same time everyone else did.

My mother took me to see Home Alone 2, when I was 12 years old. The theater was on the other side of the Dallas Metroplex from where we lived, so I'm guessing it had to be at least 50 miles. Then again, everything seems so much bigger when you're young.

Furthest I've gone is about 50 miles. I don't remember what I saw but drove that far to pick up a friend.

I travelled to London (about 3-4 hours worth of train journeys) to attend Secret Cinema Presents Blade Runner, which was wonderful.

About 15 minutes is the longest trip I've ever taken to a theater.

We flew from northern Wisconsin to NYC to see Avatar in the IMAX theater near Times Square in 2009. The purpose of our trip was visiting family, but seeing this at that particular theater was very high on our list of things to do. And it certainly did not disappoint.
