We not getting a 2D steel for this or just the 4k?

Same for Jurassic World 2 with just a 4K steel, is this a thing now just 30 quid 4K steels.

Maybe so... maybe they are trying to make people (especially in the UK where Blu-ray take-up over DVD was slow let alone 4K take-up) so they are geting steelbook collectors to 'lead the way' by saying "If you want a steelbook, you can buy this one and play the BD now BUT you have the 4K so maybe you'll actually upgrade and help with the UK 4K market".

AIUI 'Big Sleeve' was supposed to be the last push to get people moving from DVD to BD as it contained both and it was hoped the artwork and LP size so you could appreciate it would get people to move from DVD to BD as they bought these, but, as we know, 'Big sleeves' became popular with a few but generally not popular enough (not helped by poor availability). Maybe this time they are using steelbooks as they are already a KNOWN collecor's item, rather then trying to get people to collect something new... just a thought.

I quite like the artwork.

Quirky, What else would they do? Have his mask on it AGAIN?

Oooohhhh... I don’t know.... if they were going hand drawn/painted, something like... maybe...

Or even something like that with actual photographs of the characters? The possibilities are endless, and most would be better than the current WWA!

It's certainly different and striking and I can see why it's going to be a 'Marmite' cover but it's growing on me... and I agree that since they've done Sooooooooo many 'spinoff' Deadpool covers/slips/artwork for the first movie it was always going to be tough to be original AND please everyone!

Edit: Though I must say I do like Petra's mock-up idea (and there certainly is not enough hand-drawn non-easy photoshop artwork these days)

To be fair, you have a point. Still, I like what we are getting. Like you said 'The possibilities are endless' so they won't please everyone...

I appreciate the confidence you have in my artistic skills. However, if I were to make a mock-up, it would look worse than the international hand drawn WWA.

What I posted is the official artwork for the Film Arena steelbook being released.

Really? You can't imagine there could be a better choice for the art than this minimalistic drawing? A quick google search showed me at least 10 Deadpool 2 posters/pictures which would look better on the steel, especially with some embossing.
But here it is folks, the reason why lately most steelbooks designs are lazy, because people praise and buy them anyway, why even bother putting some effort into the cover art. The 'amateurs' in the custom cover art thread put more effort into it and create cooler stuff than this.

I think I'll pass on this one.

FA have knocked it out of the park though.
Just not feeling that new artwork above for the UK release.

Is it just me or am I the only 1 who really doesn't like both of the steels art (standard and FA)?
I dunno, I may still get this 1 but I also might end up cancelling and just getting a boring old amaray :/

Recently I've become rather deflated with the poor art and lack of 4K with steelbooks.
No 4K for Tomb Raider or Ready Player One (will more than likely buy the French releases)
Bad artwork for RP1, Infinity War and now Deadpool.
